    Can't blame GBP for hyping fighters. Fans need to be a little smarter with who they buy into to. If you believed the Kirkland hype that's your fault, not GBP.

    What kind of ignorance is this? All fighters are "hype jobs". What hell do you think sells fights? HYPE! If a fighter can't back it up then oh well. That is the end of his career. Watch the fights, decide for yourself to become a fan or enjoy when the fighter meets better opposition. Welcome to Boxing.

    Just gets in the way of good fights now. Pride in Japan, MMA, used to bring back fighters with losing records because they were willing to lay it all out and deliver fan friendly fights. Guys with good records but played it safe could go play somewhere else.

    seems half the people on here get it and half don't. The are trying to MANUFACTURE superstars and force them on the public which is AWFUL for the sport. Terrible. What they are doing is keeping more deserving fighters on the bench so they can showcase their Glass Jawed frauds on HBO robbing the fans of fighters we deserve to see.

    How can some of you not understand this?

    While the main point of the thread is just plain silly, the thread starter did have a great point with Golden Boy having a stronghold on HBO and HBO dictating who is a 'star' and who is not. It's not fair for the fans or for the overall good of boxing.
