after the 4th round? He buckled Margarito bad 3 times with 3 separate shots to the liver. Looked like he could have easily had him out of there in the 5th if he would have kept throwing that punch, but he stopped throwing it almost completely after the 4th. Why did he abandon that punch when he was so successful with it and looked like he had Margarito ready to at least take a knee if not go down?

    ...to prolong the agony?

He broke Margs orbital bone so he got his revenge for his friend, Halloway, in that aspect.

I was hoping to see Manny slip and unleash a counter left to the liver anytime Tony would reach in with his right. Unfortunately, I think Pac became preoccupied with the head once Tony's eye started swelling up.

Yeah that's a mystery to me, too. It's risky on account of Margo's uppercut, but he took far greater risks, and he possibly could have gotten him out of there early. It's amazing how hurt Margo was that early from body shots.

I only that one punch that buckled him, the one that Steward called.

that's what i was thinking while i was watching. he was just so supremely confident at that point that he wanted to beat him up for a few more rounds at least. you'd think he'd still want to weaken him and drop him once or twice, but who knows? he may not have gotten up.

yeah the one did actually buckle him, but when he got hit with the other two he definitely sank a little bit and visibly showed that he was hurt by it.

Because tony covered up. tony was hunching forward with his arms covering his body.

I think he knew that if he kept the body shots on Margo that Margo would go down and might not get up again. Pacman is an entertainer and he knew if kept those body shots the night would be over quick. I also think that he felt the need to punish Margo for all his trash talking and for loading his gloves on the Mosely fight. There was over a minute left on round 4 when he landed that brutal shot to the body that buckled Margo and from what I saw, he knew Margo would go down if kept hitting him like that. Just my observation and opinion.

Because it was a fixed fight and he was a company man.

He did not wanna hurt his dancing partner's tum-tum.

Seriously though, I noticed that too.

We watched the fight in a PPV theatre in Manila, and I wondered why he stopped hammering AM's midsection when the guy was obviously hurting there.

Noticeably doubled over for a split second, after he got hit solidly.

And the little ******* kept on leaning on the ropes on purpose and trying to time a counter left hand, ala the Hatton KO punch.

That was uncomfortable and scary to watch.

that was his gameplan for sure. Soften him up the first half, take him out the second. I agree that he should've kept going to the body.

Because conventional wisdom don't apply to manny. Like why would you fight someone who outweighs you by 17 pounds when he could have fought those light hitting 140 pounder smaller Bradley or alexander for probably the same amount of money and way easier fights like what gayweather has been doing.

yeah Pac took many unnecessary chances last night. It seems like he just has to sit on the ropes at some point in these fights and last night it almost cost him.
