Anyone else think Crolla would have actually won if the ref didn't stop it?

I was really impressed with Derrys performance. Crolla was really hurt by some of the shots but showed lots of heart and his body shots had an effect on Derry too. I thought Crolla was looking more solid, although he was quite hurt by last shot that wobbled him. I think he would have recovered and got back down to business in round 7. there was still a long way to go and Derry has 6 stoppage losses on his record.

I had money on Crolla stoppage, but to be honest Mathews looked much stronger to my suprise, it was only a matter of time before Crolla was stopped.

I though Crolla was going to stop Mathews in round 6 thought Mathews looked hurt most of the round

The doctor had already been called twice, he'd been put down
and Derry couldn't miss him. It would be a strange shout to think
Crolla would have won that fight.

after reading Paul Smith twitter No he says Crolla barely knew where he was and was still stunned from he knockdown even the stoppage doesn't seem that bad now

Probably not but then again I didn't think Mathews would win before. It's sport, you have ups and downs. I didn't think Everton would draw 4-4 with Man U today either. Good job the ref didn't stop it when Man U were 4-2 up.

I think he would have got to Derry in the next round or two, but Derry also had a great chance.

He was hardly knocked out like Smith was V Grove.

4 more seconds and he would have had a minute to figure out where he was, we all know Joe would have given him that minute as Joe Gallagher never pulls fighters out.

He could have regained his senses and to me what was telling was Crolla was weakening Matthews with those body shots, therefore he could have come back.

Whilst I respect Paul Smiths views on the matter, I respect my own views more.
