Anyone else think Crolla would have actually won if the ref didn't stop it?

My thoughts exactly, it annoyed me cause it was a great fight up to that point. Derry completely surprised me and prolly everyone else I guess, he made a fan out of me regardless though and I think he probably would have won in the end anyway.

 

I think that its safe to say that a man looking directly into the fighters eyes is in a significantly better position to determine whether said fighter was in a state to fight on or not than a bunch of fans on a boxing forum. Just because the majority on here spout crap like "he wasn't hurt" doesn't make it so, how the **** do they know if he was hurt or not??

I thought Crolla was through the worst of it two minutes into the last round.

But judging by Smiths comments, he was cearly done.

 

Crolla too brave for his own good. He's one of them types that would always look somewhat in command of his sense despite being out if it, so probably a good thing it got stopped. Live to fight another day and all that.

 

Should have been allowed to fight on. He took an uppercut moving backwards, didnt stumble and should have been allowed to back off and get on his bike. He wasn't given the chance to do that for another 4 seconds. Remember Derry was sagging in that round also. The fight was in the balance for either fighter IMO.

 

Considering It was a British Title fight I think the stoppage was early but would It have affected the out come If Crolla had got to the end of the round, I doubt It.

 

I'm sorry but this really doesn't wash with the kinds of stoppages we see in British rings. No longer can we simply rely and trust in referees with the amount of ridiculous bull**** we see.

 

I'm not talking about the referee I'm talking about Paul Smith who was in Crollas corner and who said that he was finished.....I really don't see what the argument is when the corner agrees with the ref :huh

 

He didn't look finished, he was pretty steady on his feet. If he was 'finished' that time he should have been stopped the first time because he was far worse then. But neither of these are true.

 

**** sakes, how difficult is it to grasp....Paul Smith, who was in Crollas corner and had hold of him at the end said that he was, quote, "away with the fairies".

 

What everyones forgetting is Anthony NEVER complained to the ref did he?

 

He's not that type of lad.

 

If he was away with the fairies how come he had the wherewithal to initiate a physical complaint to the referee as soon as he waved it off?

The truth: he was in a far worse state after the KD and was allowed to box on.

 

No i cant accept that if its wrong its wrong and he would have complained sorry,even his corner never are they to nice as well?
