Anyone else think Crolla would have actually won if the ref didn't stop it?

Any1 know where or when i can catch a replay of he fight? Wasnt home this weekend so missed it and cnt find the fight online

 

Nelson, I value my opinion far more than yours and Paul Smith. And my view is he took the shot and still had his wits. This is a worse stoppage than McKenzie Bellew 1.

 

No he wasn't the same in terms of him dominating them as he had the first and second, but he was certainly competitive in them and was winning that last round until he got caught.

 

Smith actually said that Crolla didn't know where he was...thats not a state that a fighter should be allowed to continue in

 

If he really didn't know where he was then he wouldn't have reacted in the manner he did when the ref stopped it. His reaction shows that he'd an awareness of what was occurring and was aghast by it; ruling out the possibility of him not knowing where he was or being away with any fairies.

We can disagree over the refs' judgement call, but Smith's comments substantiate nothing.

 

Paul Smith in my view is just being a drama queen.

 

Yeah it is bollocks he was still moving laterally and willing to throw punches. If every fight was stopped because someone didn't know where they were from a punch we would have some seriously short fights eg Bruno would have lost his unbeaten record vs Jumbo Cummings for example.

I think the stoppage at thet particular time was odd, but think it would have come soon enough anyway.

 

Strange time to stop it imo. possibly straight after he was caught with the uppercut again but by the time the ref stepped in he wasn't about to go down, in a British title fight as well

As others have said, Matthews was tiring badly and it could have turned out to be FOTY

Thinking back as the ref stepped in I shouted Nooooooooooo at the tv lol wonder how many others did too.
