Anyone else think Joshua losing weight could be a bad thing for his performance?

He should just concentrate on getting as much stamina, speed and mobility as possible whilst maintaining as much strength and power as possible and let the weight just be what it is.

Losing weight will aid it. Don't worry, he'll still probably look good with his shirt off to fruits like you.

He would gas out badly after 4 or 5 rounds but surviving those 5 rounds would be a miracle for any opponent.

Resorting to name calling, because you are losing the argument.

He started as a professional around 240 I think, so no, losing weight shouldn’t impede his performance, but instead enhance it.

Using the eye test, I would say he’s much quicker and more explosive when closer to 240, not to mention that it will clearly help his endurance. At 250 I think he’s an accident waiting to happen.

There was an article a few months back, talking about great heavyweights that put on to much mass, and paid the price, only to come back after shedding the weight to regain world titles. Wlad and Lewis were among them mentioned.

240 on the nose is his best weight no lower than 235

It's amazing to me that with all the modern methods of training and diet these guys look to be in shape but gas out in 5 or 6 rounds. What if they had to go 15 rounds? They couldn't possibly make it that long.

Wilder might be on to something weighing in at 215. He's skinny but he went 10 rounds and got rocked but it seemed to me he wasn't wobbling around out of gas. He still had the wherewithal to ko Ortiz.

Joshua has way more muscle than he needs IMO.

Why would anybody think that when its as clear as day he looks much better in the mid 240's than he does in the mid 250's. :smiley_1140::gaydude::smileysex1:

For Parker they made the right Choice, he needs to reduce Parker chances of winning. Best way to do it is to come at natural lean weight.

It will be a disadvantage vs Wilder or Fury, where Anthony Joshua will need some kind of physical advantage to muscle them down in positions to land something, increasing the chances of an early KO when the muscular strength still has some value

Wilder has freakish power at 215-230lbs, I don't think power is simply how much muscle you have. Power= energy / time so what he'll lose in muscle he'll make up in speed if power is the concern.

    It's not that simple.
