Anyone else think Junior Dos Santos will be the world's next great heavyweight?

I've been watching this guy's fights all week, and I think he is the ****ing business.

Even if Fedor does rematch and beat Werdum (I think he will), it's clear that the great man is no longer the same fighter he was in Pride, and surely doesn't have all that long left in the sport.

It's time for a new heavyweight to dominate that weight class, and I think it's going to be JDS.

I'd back him to outclass Lesnar, Carwin, Velasquez, or any other UFC heavyweight. He's already crushed Werdum, and I think it's fair to say Alistair Overeem pours liquid PEDs all over his cereal every morning and can't even be taken seriously as an athlete anymore.

What do you think? Am I overrating JDS, or is he the next great heavyweight to emerge? :bbb

Depends entirely on his takedown defence and ability to fight off his back.

He could be the next great MMA heavyweight, or he could be taken down and smashed.

We will find out soon enough.

He trains BJJ with the Nogueira brothers, so he should be pretty tasty off his back I think.

Whether Overeem "pours liquid PEDs all over his cereal every morning and can't even be taken seriously as an athlete anymore" or not, he's still talented and dangerous.

    As for JDS, maybe...

He has the talent but let's see how he'll do when he finally gets a shot at fighters like cain-carwin and brock.

He has outstanding standup, but all that skill goes out the window when he's lying on his back. The heavyweight division has too many big, strong wrestlers for JDS to truly dominate.

If JDS has sufficient takedown defence, and uses his speed around the cage, he could KO the UFC's wrestlers before he gets put on his back. JDS has awesome power. And his BJJ is pretty solid, so he may spring a surprise on the mat as well.

Looks like it hes one of the finest boxers in MMA. I mean how many guys can counter punch in MMA at the level this guy can ? His takedown defense looks amazing and sure we havent seen his ground game but he trains on a regular basis with Big Nog if it isnt atleast pretty good id be freaking shocked.

The guy's been a wrecking ball so far, look at his resume his last 5 fights

    Werdum ko 1
    Struve ko1
    Cro cop ko 3
    Yvel ko 1
    Gonzaga ko 1

very impressive and has a better 5 fight win streak then any heavy weight then I can think of.

Question is how will he deal with strong wrestlers like Cain,Carwin and Brock.

I mentioned this from day one. JDS is something special. You can take him down but you sure wont keep him there. That along with the fastest hands for a HW.

To me he has the makings of the greatest of all time.

I don't know about the greatest of all time, I DO think he is gonna be champ someday soon. Time will tell he has all the tools thats for sure. As for Cain, I just don't see what all the hype is with this guy. The only thing he did was beat a half dead Nog.

If he has Chuck like defence then yes as he will bang the **** out of everyone. I love watching JDS. He just wants to put fist to face as much as possible until his opponent folds. AWESOME.
