Let me start by saying I am a HUGE CRITIC of Amir Khan. I think he is overrated and has always been. He hasn't beaten many good opponents in their prime outside of Maidana and Malignaggi. I do not think he deserves this fight at all.

However, I think Khan has a better chance than many fighters due to his speed. I know Khan is glass jawed, but Mayweather hasn't had a legit KO/TKO in 6 years. Speed is really the only way to beat him outside of landing a lucky shot. Khan has great speed and good boxing skills. I don't think Floyd can stop him but I think it can be a close fight in terms of a boxing match.

Nope. Floyd is a couple of levels above Khan.

Khan's speed is irrelevant in this fight because Mayweather has a lot of speed also. If Mayweather was slow it would be relevant. Not sure why people keep posting this as a reason Khan could have success :huh

I don't understand that logic. That's like saying Tua couldn't beat Tyson because Tyson had greater power, or vice versa whatever. The point is, it's an attribute that could cause a problem. When Mayweather fought Judah, he struggled at times because of his speed. You aren't really going to outbox Floyd, but speed could trouble him.

    Just a thought.

I agree with this statement. Having fast hands and dodging your opponents fast hands are two separate things. Entirely possible to be able to do one without the other. I think Floyd will do ok. But I think he prefers to fight predictable brawlers over boxings.

    1. It's more entertaining.
    2. It favors his skill set more.

No. Floyd is also fast and much smarter. Khan would get frustrated with Floyds accuracy, and like every other fighter Floyd has faced, will stop throwing punches. Floyd can fight in a phonebooth and we already know Khan can't.

It would take a fighter like Paul Williams, Manny Pacquiao or someone like that that throws volume and doesn't get frustrated when they don't land 40% of their punches.

If he wins a round then he has already done a better job than Ortiz, Guerrero and Canelo

    LOL

No way, might last bit longer due to running, but Floyd is truly levels above Khan , Danny Garcia deserves a shot before Khan , i say let Khan v Garcia 2 happen at welterweight winner fights Floyd, makes sense.

Khan has no chance at all with his glass jawed ass. Mayweather is just taking another safe fight he knows he can win as always.

I'm not saying Khan would win, but his speed and volume would give Floyd trouble. I've always been skeptical that Floyd would take that fight. Plus Khan is not a big draw in the US.

Danny Garcia fits the Mayweather profile much better. Slow plodder, low ring IQ, undefeated, coming up in weight. A draw in the US. Angel would be a star on 24/7. Floyd would shut him out easily. That's a potential Floyd opponent.

Khan could cause him some problems. Would be an entertaining fight.
