The guy who trained lemieux and Pascal for most of his career. All of his fighters are very one dimensional, get useless instructions(I speak french and most of the time he tells them things that get covered in boxing 101 the first time you step into a gym, or he'll just say useless stuff like "be fast") his fighters dont adjust well to tactical problems in a fight. Ive never been impressed with canadian trainers or managers imo. Why they taught a physical specimen with speed Power, legs and range like Razor Ruddock that one dimensional, odd style is beyond me. Also Beterbievs career has been stalled to almost a standstill. He should have fought for a title years ago!
I agree with you about Ruddock and he got worse after he knocked Dokes out with the smash then tried to fight Tyson with that punch alone and nothing else.
You are correct. I keep seeing Russ Anbar working as an assistant trainer with high-profile boxers, and after that those boxers start to lose. They are making a mistake by hiring him.
Anber has worked as a cornerman with Pascal , never was the trainer . Anber was the trainer for Lemieux , for the Saunders fight I thought Ramsay was the trainer . I guess it's Anber's fault the fighters don't win every fight and Lemieux doesn't win every fight against guys like Saunders and Golovkin who are clearly better boxers and always will be. ... on the other hand Lemieux has fought 2 World Champions and has had a pretty good boxing career overall .
Marc Ramsey? I've heard others say they don't rate him either. Ramsey actually called Iceman Scully to lend a helping hand with Beterbiev's training while he (Ramsey) was away working with Lemieux and was busy doing other stuff. Scully said he tried to add a few more wrinkles to Beterbiev's game and teach him some tricks. This content is protected
Yes Scully's a good guy he's done a lot of work helping fighters who've fallen on hard times and he's very knowledgeable about the sport and amateur boxing, too. Just a class act all round.
