Anyone else think that the super 6 isn't working?

the only problem with this is no lucien bute. :?

    that's a shame.

still a good tournament and the winner deserves the super middleweight title.

    bute or no bute. :yep

It works but it seems like it's taking too long in between for the next group of fights to happen.

I like the format but they need to fight every 3 or 4 months top. In general now-a-days guys take too ****ing long, 1 or 2 fights a year, give me a break.

    Plus no Bute sucks

The fights are the thing. Not the names. So far all the fights have sucked.

Ward-Kessler was too one sided to be exciting. Froch-Dirrell was also totally one sided but with a robbery as the cherry on top. Abraham-Taylor was the most boring thing I've ever seen and we got to see Abe's ass on top of it all. At least there was a good knockout at the end of that one.

In a past thread I called it the "Super Fix" as some fighters have gotten favorable treatment.

The Super Six is a double bladed sword, we get great fights, but we have the nasty experience of having fighters tied up preventing them from taking other bouts. For Example, Dawson vs Ward would be a great all-american match up, but the Super Six prevents that and now we have Ward vs Green, an okay fight but not as good as Dawson. This should clear up once we get to the knockout round. But overall the Super Six should have been the Super 4 with it simply being Abraham, Kessler, Ward and Froch. It would have cleared up the rest of the division to fight whom they please and the tournament would only take a year and not 2 or 3.

They've only completed one round to a lot of fan fare. It's brought up talks of the same thing at 140 & 147. Not working? Only if you had vaslty unrealistic exceptions.

The Dirrell-Froch fight sucked just as much because of Froch then Dirrell.

Dirrell ran almost the entire fight and Froch looked like a complete fool swinging for the fences and missing widely while being absolutely incapable of cutting of the ring. They BOTH looked like ****.

My only issue is the length between fights. Too long. the fights themselves may not have been great, but that is going to happen, tourney or no tourney. Just need to get it going more frequently. It's hard to sustain any kind of momentum when there is such a lull in between stages. It could take almost 2 years to finish.

The first round of fights was god awful. Biased judges, biased refs, and 3 stink fests rather than boxing matches. Hopefully round two will be better. Kessler/Froch looks good, and Abraham/Dirrell might be interesting. Ward/Green? blaaahhh.
