Anyone else think Tim Bradley would actually beat Khan?

I don't think there is anyone in boxing skilled enough, other than Mayweather and JMM, to take advantage of those Khan mistakes you mention. By swarming and overwhelming his opponents, he seems to get away with it. He'll find himself in trouble when he's up against someone who won't panic or be deterred by his flurries. But like I said, there aren't many people in and around his division that can do that.

And Maidana rarely had trouble finding him because his power and strength had Khan hurt and slowed down - making him more of a stationary target to hit. Power punchers will always do this to him. Counterpunchers and boxers, however, allow Khan to fight at a pace that suits him, it seems. When he's allowed to get off first, he thrives off it.

But I can see Bradley making him miss and slowing his punch-output, whilst roughing him up and making him fight on the back foot to slow him down in the latter rounds. It's at this stage where Khan becomes vulnerable and loses rounds.

 

I think that’s a bit of a myth. Khan’s not become some incredible force of nature – he’s just got fast hands and a bit of pop. You don’t need to be supremely skilled to catch him, just smart enough to defuse his offence by stepping around him as he comes in.

I think Bradley is plenty smart enough and definitely more adaptable in the ring.

 

Khan UD - i dont think Khan is the beast that he has suddenly become, and is still a Ko waiting to happen because of some mistakes he makes, but Bradley is incredibly over-rated


Hes rugged, comes to fight and has a great engine - but does that warrant being a top fighter? remember when everyone would come into the ring with that mindset? This is a guy who, if Kendall Holt didnt have a heart the size of a dried up prune, would have lost in Canada.

I never said Khan was a force of nature. I just feel that if his flaws were that bad, they would have been taken advantage of by now. Both McCloskey and Judah were stepping around him as he came in, but they were either cought by the last 1-2 wide punches in the flurry, or Khan got himself out of range before they came back to counter. People kept saying he'd be badly exposed when he meets someone who has skill and power, but who in his division - other than Mayweather and JMM - has a combination of this?

But I agree, Bradley does have the smarts to beat Khan.

Khan beats tiny Tim and its not even close. You really think smurf boy Bradley is gonna connect with those wild looping overhand rights that he loves to throw? Not a chance, he gets kept off with straight punches and worn down for a late TKO.

If this fight is at 147 Khan stops him inside 6

 

Dont believe the hype. Last time out was good. Bradley is not Judah though. He will bring far more to trouble Khan.

Bradley is being underestimated in general in this thread. Will be a good fight when it happens. At the moment its a 50/50 fight imo

 

He may be short, but have you seen his condition? He s ripped to hell and wont be ragdolled by Khan or anyone else at 140-147

Whats Khan super strong now? His biggest asset is speed. i cant see Khan punishing him too bad on the outside. Not enough to stop Bradley rolling forward anyway

 

Bradley isn't that good either, not sure why he is avoiding Khan to face Manny, he would get destroyed. He may get a decent payday, but he would also get one facing Khan, with opportunity of an even bigger payday if he won.

Looking ripped don't mean jack now not comparing Bradley to Zab how ripped was he, this is not no body building contest.

Khan is the much much bigger man in there with little Bradley, Khan will come in around 150+ on fight at 140, God knows what he would come in if the fight was at 147 where Bradley gets even more rapage.

In fairness Darni, other than the Maidana fight, Khan hasn’t realistically been threatened since Kotelnik. He’s been impeccably matched by Frank and GBP. I think you’re going overboard on his abilities though. The height and weight will be a factor at points, but Timmy has a knack of turning his lack of height into an advantage.

If Khan beats him easy then I’ll be utterly impressed. But no one has even looked close to beating Bradley as long as I’ve been watching him.

 

Weren't you impressed by the Judah fight, Judah was back in form and had been picked by a lot of people to win against Khan.
