Anyone else thought it was a bit sad to see Diaz get destroyed after a good start?

I very much like both warriors, though i rooted for Diaz because he's a young, strong and exciting fighter.... plus he seems to be a very nice guy. Marquez fought a brilliant fight and i give him all the credit in the world, but i thought it was sad to see Diaz basically be taken out of the fight in the 7th and then finished in the 8th, as exciting as the fight was. But he fought like a man and made Marquez dig really deep to get the win... i have only gained respect for him and hope to see him in more fights.

Sad? Nope. You can only ask they give their best, they give their all and it is decided in the ring. Guy will go far in life from the sounds of it, with or without, boxing.

He fought very well but he didn't have the skills to overcome the technically better fighter.A great fight by Diaz though.

    Mad props to both fighters.

Diaz deserves adulation, not pity or feelings of sadness for him.

He lost to an All Time Great.

I was thinkin that a bit at the time but the fact I am abig fan of JMM meant I soon got over it!

Both guys performed admirably and I hope Diaz can come back to proience once JMM moves u to fight Pac at 140 (hopefully!)

This fight was hard for me. Those are my 2 favorite fighters. When one would land i didnt know wether to cheer or get upset. I got caught a few times when my fam asked me who the hell i was going for because i was cheering for both.

I was very sad to see him go down like that. Both times were brutal the first knockdown he went face first into the canvas and the second one he went flat on his back.

Props to Diaz for making it a war and giving a hell of a performance.

Diaz fought an amazing fight. Around the 6th, i actually thought JMM might get KOed later in the fight as the pace was furious and Diaz seemed to be getting into a groove. But the bleeding really affected him and the pinpoint accuracy of JMM's punches were the difference. Diaz might've lost but he earned my respect. He's still an A level fighter IMO.

Yes, I was sad to see Diaz lose that way. I wouldn't have been as sad if he lost in a decision but see him on the canvas was very sad to see. However, he is young and I'm sure he will learn from this and maybe comeback and dominate this division once again! He has a great heart and his relentless style plus ring smarts will favor him in the future. All good fighters who become great fighters have obtained losses - Marquez record already has 4 losses and Pacquiao has 3 losses. Diaz has two losses versus two top of the line lightweights in Campbell and Marquez. There is no shame in it and no reason why he can't learn from all this.

I was amazed that he lost after that start he had...you could argue he was ahead at the time of the KO.

He should be proud as he did better against JMM than other guys like Casamayor and you could even argue Pacquiao. JMM looked in trouble for awhile there...

Any other fighter in that place would most likely lose to Diaz or get worn down.
