Anyone else thought Itauma was going to win, but during the fight slowly changed your mind?

I watched the fight, and i saw Hrgovic just getting used as a heavy bag.

During the fight I saw Moses kept getting hit and his reaction to getting hit was far more significant than what Hrgovic reaction was.

so basically as the fight went on I went "if he keeps throwing punches , Itauma is gonna be done" And it just became a quesiton of how many more hits Hrgovic could take. by the 8th I think was when i went "You have taken all the punches ,now all you need is to put on the pressure, his reaction to getting hit is far worse than yours"

Again this is heavyweight division so anything can happen. But as the fight went on, did you also see the shift?

I thought Itauma was going to win, up until the last 25 seconds of the 8th round. Hrgovic landed several good punches and it was obvious Itauma was gassed.

By round 4/5 I could see the tides turning even though rounds were going the one way

Then by round 6 when he was throwing superman punches and putting in way more energy than was neccasary trying to hurt or stop a man who clearly was going to distance I was basically jerking off with excitement.

I didn't expect him to blow that badly though. I really expected him to try and take some cruising rounds or breathers. It's wierd normally people ring circle or clinch or spoil, anything but he just tried to fight the fire with a slowly dwindling jug of water. Surely they knew he'd be struggling down the stretch and with so many rounds in the bag why not cruise. Hurgo could have pressured harder also.

It's not just gaining stamina through expierance, he really has a lot more skills to add in terms of energy management, spoiling, having more than that fire to fight back, you have to be cool as a cucumber which is what Hurgo is.

I wreckon they got hyped in the changing rooms, really expected to come out guns blazing and pull a prime Mike Tyson performance. Not happening. It will hurt his ego big time.

I was getting concerned around rounds 5-6 and was expecting him to start easing off a bit. Round 8 is when I knew it'd get waved off.

Never in doubt. I had a premonition it was going to transpire just the way it did. Like the plane scene in Final destination. I always do. I'm like Keanu Reeves in The Matrix.

    I am The Matrix.
