First it was their bull**** that their heavyweight champ was the baddest man on the planet as a cheap shot to boxing. That blew up in their faces when Lesnar reacted like a little girl when he got punched in the face, crying out like a ***** for the ref to stop it. There should be no question the Klits are the baddest men on the planet right now. Now I've noticed they've moved on to calling Anderson Silva the greatest P4P fighter who's ever lived, and this started after Fedor's recent losses. I've heard Dana White say it a few times, the same Dana White who only a few fights ago was calling Silva a clown and a disgrace for his performances and threatened to kick him out of the UFC. The commentators also mentioned that he's the greatest ever in tonight's broadcast. ****ing shameless. Now I don't know if Fedor is hands down the greatest ever, but he certainly greater than Anderson Silva. Compare his wins, quality of opposition and achievements in his prime to Silva's and it's not much of a contest. They need to stop this garbage. They also need to stop trying to disparage boxing. Boxing, even with all it's problems, can still draw more off of one fighter alone than the UFC can with a stacked card. If boxing gets it's **** together they'll bury the UFC. At the end of the day, there's nothing greater or more compelling than a big boxing fight, that will never change.
How dare they try to hype up their fighters and promote their product? Disagree. Fedor had all of three quality wins in his prime against Nog and Cro Cop when those two were at their peak. Anderson has never fought somebody on the level of Zuluzinho. So this is just a rant by a butthurt Pac fan who's pissed that some fighter other than Manny is receiving high praise. What's it like to go through life with your tongue that far up the ass of another man?
They did the same with Machida....(until he got Koed by Shogun)....They'll do the same with Jon Jones (plus he's still very young)... At one point ,Liddell was also the greatest thing since sliced bread. I usually just turn down the volume or watch ufc fights in a foreign language. (or else it's unbearable)... The UFC is not mma. Just a portion of it. And it's normal for them to label their champs as the best fighters in human history...It's what they do. They need to sell tickets. ufc owners must've had an orgasm after all the brazilian victories (of Nogueira , Shogun and Anderson)...Brazilians winning in Brazil = great business. Especially for future events in Rio.
Actually Im not tired of it at all Doesnt bother me one bit Get some ***** Wont bother you no more either
Nothing wrong with that, I'm against them kicking the boot into boxing and rival organisation's fighters to promote themselves. Cheap tactics. Agree, that's what I meant. Both Pac and Mayweather on their own can outdraw the greatest card the UFC could put together. Nothing to do with Pac, it's a UFC v Boxing thing. Dana White was shitting on boxing the other day, gloating about how Todd DuBeouf went into a panic when he heard the UFC had a free show on FOX same day as the Pac fight, yet it was the UFC who cut their show from 2 hrs to one so's not to run into Pacquiao's fight. He also used the opportunity to claim UFC is the greater product as the best fighters are forced to fight each other with the Pac-Mayweather bout unable to be made. Yet Silva and St. Pierre are still no closer to fighting each other, Silva also has no intention of fighting Jon Jones, or his other friend Machida or Shogun to avoid a situation where he might be called on to fight Machida. UFC fighters tend to not want to fight opponents from the same camp or their friends, so it stinks just the same. From what I recall, they labelled Machida winning the title the dawning of a new era in MMA. Fair enough, Machida won the title from a Karate background which was unique. Jon Jones is also a different kind of beast, one that shows up in optimum fighting shape like a boxer and enjoys physical and athletic advantages at his weight class. I have no problem with them calling it a new era with him winning the title as well. However calling Silva the greatest P4P fighter ever is disrespectful to the sports history and to Fedor. Agree, he's the P4P best, but not the greatest ever.
I don't think the most loyal MMA fan wld say a great boxing match isn't better than a MMA fight. Ali v Foreman, Sugar Ray v Hagler, Tyson v Lewis, ODLH v Tito/Mosley or a possible PBF v Pac will always be bigger than anything MMA can dish up period.
The world's a big enough place for both sports and people can take or leave them as they choose. I agree the UFC has a long way to go before it can put something up against the likes of Ali v Frazier, Sugar Ray Leonard v Marvin Hagler and Micky Ward v Thunder Gatti. But Spider Silva is to the UFC what PacMan is to boxing.
How in the world could you put Fedor above Silva? And for the record... the boxing community talks about the ufc way more than the UFC or mma fighters talk about boxing.
“UFC’s champions can’t handle boxing. That’s why they are in UFC.” Mayweather said. “Put one of our guys in UFC and he’d be the champion. Any good fighter, he’d straight knock them out. Take Chuck Liddell. Put him in the ring with a (boxer) who is just 10-0 and Chuck Liddell would get punished. They wouldn’t have a chance to grapple (us) because we’d knock them out.”
Liddell wld get knocked out by any top 20 guy only because Liddell actually believes he can throw punches like a boxer atsch. If he were to kick and grapple it wld be a different story
