i was watching some old rj fights on you tube. He' s the one the few that got me to love boxing. he must of been the most gifted fighter ever. this ****er had everything speed.defence,power. I wish he would of faced better fighters when he would of faced the best. anyways good luck to him with calazge.:rasta

Hopkins? Toney? His resume isn't as good as it should be, but he did beat two of the very best fighters of his era.

Bernard Hopkins only admits one person has ever beat him, one person has ever out boxed him, that one person is Roy Jones Junior.

And no one, no one has ever school and outboxed James Toney ever, like Roy Jones Junior did.

    Roy Jone's Junior

I mean even Roy has stated that he wish he done more with his career when he was prime. I would have love to seen Roy up against Chris Eubank at 168 but sometimes circumstances does'nt allow great matchups to happen.

Not his fault "the best" wanted no part of him. Was there any great opponent out there that WANTED to fight Jones(in his prime) and do whatever was necessary to make the fight happen??

I do wish he fought more elite fighters then he did. Guys like Benn, Eubank, DM and McClellan(which isn't his fault).

There is a reason he avoided those guys. His Chin is about as fragile as it gets. Roy has a Glass Jaw and he knew it thus his avoiding anyone who could really punch.

Calzaghe admitted he wanted no part of a prime Roy.

After the Toney fight Jones had alot of the top guys in boxing scared. Not only with his speed but the man had massive power at 160 and 168. Roy really had no chance of getting fights against guys like Benn or Eubank or DM simply because they didn't need him. Those guys were already big fan favorites and made big money in there own countries. The guys Jones fought with the exception of Toney needed Jones for the money and exposure.

All this stuff is a two way street, A lot of fighter won'ted no part of Jones and it was a pretty good reason why, they would have lost and mite have looked very bad in the process. DM fight was never going to happen and rest could have, which is sad,

he sparred for 12 rounds with a **** heavyweight, the ruiz hype/fight is the most overrated achievement in modern day boxing....

harry greb was doing that on a monthly basis back in the day and he was a short middleweight.
