He fought in a four-rounder after the PW bout that ended in the first via vicious KO. He has a long way to go in terms of defense and punching technique, but he's only 19 and is legitimately very fast and appears to have good snap in his punches. He beat an unknown who had no speed at all, but he's worth watching at 122-126.
i put his boxrec on my bookmarks... he looked rediculously nice to me.... i hope he continues to grow
I was more impressed with the guy who fought in the fight after Arreola. It was pretty obvious that this kid's opponent had no clue what he was doing. Not even close to long enough to tell much about the kid, considering how sloppy the fight was on both sides. At least with the other kid (who IIRC was only 21 himself) you could tell he had some technical skill to go with great handspeed.
From ringside Derrick Wilson looked very good albeit verses very a limited opponent. Rico Ramos was the boxer before Paul Williams. He looked good as well. But for me the one to watch is Mike Dallas Jr. He was supposed to fight as the filler between Arreola and Williams but his opponent bailed on him. The boy has good skills. He needs a little bit of polish on the defense but he's still a pup so there's time. He'll be in action on October 9th.
Yes, he was phenomenonal! I am from the same city that he is from and I never heard of him until lastnight. He was awesome. A lil training and he will be unstoppable!
