Anyone else who enjoyed the Hughie Fury vs Joseph Parker fight?

If Fury had fought with some agression he would have been ko'd.. His team know that which is why he fight liek he does..

 

That's the worst Parker has looked. I thought he was better than that, but it was aweful.

He needs a new coach now. Start with teaching some foot work. Then try fill every other gap in his skill set. He has repeatedly been exposed in takim, Ruiz, and fury. But non more so than last night.

The problem is he won't change coaches. He could do a camp with Sanchez and it might also help Barry as well. But I don't think it will ever happen.

 

To fight in that method you have to make the aggressor pay for his sloppy offensive. Fury may have done that once with the upper cut? So many chances with clumsy advances too.

 

But he didn't outbox Parker even, he avoided him but didn't punch anything back.

If he'd let his hands go more then a lazy jab or a right hand counter he could be a beautiful boxer. Right now his offense is way to limited.

i had parker as the win. Fury didn't do much on the back-foot to take the belt for me. Parker by 1-3 rounds

 

I agree about his offensive arsenal being too limited, I think his jab won him this fight though. Close rounds, but if Parker lands nothing those jabs count. I think with both fighters being young, both can improve after this performance as they now need to know what to work on. Degale improved after the GG loss, I see both improving after this.

 

The way Fury fought and the way the fight went in general reminded me of Johnny Nelson vs Carlos De Leon. Which is still probably the worst boxing match/fight I have ever seen. This one doesn't beat that terrible terrible ATW fight, but it comes pretty damn close.

 

I enjoyed the fight. Hughie being underestimated hugely. He's 23, was out of the ring a long time and stepped up several levels in class. I had him by two.

Hughie will make a lot of people eat their words one day. Mind boggling how people refuse to acknowledge that skillset for a 23 year old heavyweight. Made a world champion in Parker land next to nothing. His offense was good in spurts and will improve hugely over the coming years.

 

That's exactly what I saw last night.

 

I thought it was dull, I enjoy watching Lara and Rigo and I thought this was dull. I spent half the fight paying more attention to how loose the ropes were.

Both were poor to mediocre at best, it was properly clumsy stuff and neither are deserving of a world title.

 

I scored it 117-111 parker. and I ain't corrupt.. I also said 116-112 was possible or even 115-113.. I will never award a running away style and a few jabs... Mayweather went on the backfoot but atleast he landed punches at some point to win.. Hughie is just crap to watch.

 

kinda makes me wish id been there for that masterful display of "the sweet science".

 

Parker should get a new coach, but it wasn't his worst performance by any means. Did you see the Cojanu fight? Fury-Parker was a 50-50 fight, any win, even a close one, is a decent result /performance

 

Toche! I didn't see the Cojanu fight!! I'd bought every Parker fight but couldn't stomach being ripped off again with ducos sub standard cards.

 

Just to correct you - the cards this time was put together by Hennessey sports. Their logo was all over the ring, you couldnt miss it.
