I like and respect Shane, but for the good of the sport I would rather see Cotto take this. A Cotto-Mayweather fight is exactly what boxing needs to propel itself back into the mainstream.

these guys are my 2 favorite boxers and i really am struggling in who i wanted to go fo. I ended up going for sugsey caus he's been a favorite of mine for longer.

would much rather be seeing mosley v pbf and cotto v hatton not the other way around.

LOL.. I feel somewhat the same.. I wouldn't mind if Hatton wins to shut PBF up.. but at the same time I prefer Floyd as a boxer and would rather someone like Cotto or Moseley took his 0..

Good post. But then again I find myself thinking Mosely has given his all to the sport for years and has been great... and is it right to switch my loyalties just because a Cotto win is better for the sport? :think:bart:think

when this fight was first signed i was rooting for mosley but just a few weeks ago i decided cotto, mosley has given us some great fights, he has seen and done it, now its time for a new blood, but i still want to see mosley fight floyd.

Thats funny because if I were going for Cotto, it would be mainly so that he fought Floyd.

Cotto is my man! and I know the limitations, he doesnt move his head well is flat footed get tagged often and sooner or later its going to cost him ...but he is tough, fights physically and is exciting to watch. I love Mosely he has fought everyone and ducked no one. He doesnt get the full credit he deserves and is the real deal, so I dont want him beat up. These guys are fighting the tough fights while others duck and manuever. Still I go with Cotto

No mixed feelings here! Out with the old, in with the new. Boxing is relying too much on senior citizens like Holyfield, Byrd, RJJ, De La Hoya, Tarver when there is PLENTY of exciting young talent to go around. But, for whatever reason, networks prefer to show out of breath mummys for 12 rounds. :patsch

I guess part of it is because fans don't know when a guy is SHOT. People thought Holyfield had a chance in hell vs Ibragimov, will watch Jones/Tarver, thought Byrd would beat Povetkin, thought Oscar would beat Floyd, think 42 year old geezer Hopkins is still a p4p force, etc. etc.

And now they think an aging Calzaghe will Lacy Kessler and an expired Mosley will KO Cotto :verysad

Lol good point. When I take Mosely out of the equation and look at boxing as a whole, your right, its holding on to the stars of the late 90' s and early 00's too much. We need more fights like PBF vs Cotto, Pac vs Diaz, etc. Young fighters need to be lifted into the spotlight.
