Anyone enjoy watching Pavlik get his ass kicked as much as I did?

Me too. I watched the fight with my dad and I was telling him that I wished Martinez would pour it on in the 12th, maybe get a KD, or put on a round 9ish type of round that could have been a 10-8, just to make sure the judges didn't **** it up. I'm glad he finally got over the hump.

i enjoyed it more so that i'm a Maravilla fan.

there was a point were i was ALMOST sold on being a Pavlik fan then he lost to Hopkins in somewhat embarrassing fashion and showed NO ability to adapt. Ill give props to Pavlik to adapting to Martinez around Rnd 4 but couldn't do it again when Maravilla checked back in rnd 9.

I'm re-watching it now, Christ the HBO commentary is so biased for Kelly it's pathetic.

They call everyone of Pavlik's shots and zero of Sergio's. At one point Martinez lands about 6 or 7 good punches and there is silence, Kelly lands a counter semi decent right and Lampley screams "hard right hand by Pavlik!"

    :patsch:patsch:rofl:rofl

And Steward has just lost the plot completely.

Martinez is pretty decent. Boxed the early rounds and unsettled Pavlik. Pavlik raised his level and began to time the Argentine. Martinez switched it up again and began to come on, showing he can stand and fight as well as box. Ok the cut played a part, but he caused that with a punch, so Pav fans should have no excuses. I'm fast becoming a fan of this guy! very exciting to watch, fast hands, slick skills, and a warrior as well!

Yes it was it really was!! thought I was the only one that noticed that! I am used to seeing this kind of bias, from British commentators, didn't expect it from a HBO telecast! but the amount of times they were calling Martinez's beautiful boxing, "running" was crazy! and disrespectful. If it was an american fighter doing the so called "running" it would be considered slick movement. But when a latino fighter does it, since they are usually known for being head down, walk forward sluggers, they clearly didn't want to give Martinez enough praise. And yep, any little shot that Pavlik threw was a "hard right hand".

I also couldn't believe the crap that was coming from Steward. A man who knows his stuff when it comes to boxing. Perhaps they had money on Pavlik to win???

I can't stand Martinez, something about his style bothers the **** out of me.. but it was a good win.

I wasn't a Pavlik fan either, as I always thought he was over-hyped for his skill level.

I honestly don't enjoy watching Martinez, but I did enjoy watching Pavlik.

Steward is a huge Pavlik guy, so it's not surprising he was a homer for Kelly.. he's prone to that.
