Chariot races, gladiator fights, etc? Please share your experiences. Was the food good back then? How were the restrooms? Did they have any?

they didn't serve food, there was a break between the morning and afternoon sessions, animal fights and criminal executions in the am, then the gladiators in the pm. the colosseum emptied in under a half hour so it wasn't too bad. unless you were part of the entertainment.
I expect a high-quality entertaining John Garfield yarn about what for him then was a new and exciting period of combat sports.
