I've been to that gym many times, though it has been 5 years. Friday is sparring day. I've seen a lot of people working out there but I've never noticed anybody helping them, unless they train there regularly. I'd be suprised if you could walk in and get somebody to spend time with you for $5; they are pretty busy there.
I went there in May. Walked in and a fella (tall guy with an afro, cant remeber his name) at the desk asked for ID and 5 dollars if I wanted to workout. He took me for 2 rounds on the pads then said for another 2 rounds it was another 5 dollars which was fair enough. That day anyway there was quite a few trainers in the gym asking me if I wanted any help. Khan and Chavez jr were in training that day too and hit the mitts with Freddie. I was told that Monday, Wednesday and Friday are the sparring days for the guys in camp, but that could be just for that particular camp. Anyway, cool place and everyone in there is super friendly.
