Also wouldn't stay overnight in Wales training camps ,father stating only I can feed him.As a kid on the welsh schoolboy circuit people in the crowd would be shouting out steriod boy ,lots of trainers had their suspicions ,but even though it's against rules to use peds unless it's a big international tournament boys wouldn't get tested costs about £400 a boy .With his dad not letting him go to international rumours started

So the boy must be on steroids then if his Fathers very protective of him. I can totally understand his Father not wanting him to go to the Internationals and stay overnight. And I bet a lot of these suspicious trainers were just jealous because his Dad knew what was best for his son. I would say his Father knows better than anybody what's best for his boy and he's done a good job IMO. Romeo's only 18 and he look's a promising talent.

So you wouldn't let your son represent his country ,instead you would home school him ,fed him god knows what and train him full time lot be a boxer, and end up with a kid who comes across who's thick had no school life gets up at 4.00am every morning ,never more than a few feet from his dad who does all his Facebook and tweeting ,moves him all round the country gets him to dress stupid and do cringeworthy routines ,no experience with women ,and what happens if he never makes it! Yes his dad's done a great job ,watch the boy half the time he looks embarrassed. Glad your not my dad

I have seen that article before Buster thanks, but I still don't see what all the fuss is about. Clearly his Father is a very pushy parent and compulsively obsessed, but I understand where he is coming from and so far he is right. Another poster mentioned how Romeo's had no experience with women, but he's still young and Boxing is currently his bird, so women aren't his priority at the moment. I'm sure if Romeo wanted he could take his pick of any women. If he goes on to have a good career that provides well for him then all the sacrifices will be worth it... And if he doesn't then he can get a normal job, eat rubbish, get fat and pull as many Slappers as he wants :good

Well that's your opinion, but I disagree. Bernard Hopkins lives a similar life style and he get's praised, but this kid gets called a druggy and a weirdo because he's one step ahead of the rest of the kids at his age. Romeo's only 18 and he's a professional who lives the life and has no baggage tying him down the worlds his oyster if he keeps improving at his game and who knows what he can go on to achieve, so it's not hard to understand. But it seems the kid has a huge target on his back already, but that's good he'll sell lots of tickets then.
