Yes but he also has to be smart enough to know the scope of his abilities. I can believe all i want i can get in the ring with a prime Mike Tyson...:smooch
I feel bad from him in the sense that Hatton wanted to be great, but he just didn't have the talent to achieve that. He was never an 'A' fighter like Floyd or Manny, in reality he wasn't even close. But, Hatton was a good, tough fighter. He was the lineal champ at 140 for significant period of time, and he will be remembered as such.
Feeling bad for Hatton would mean forgetting how many fighters Hatton himself sent ruthlessy to the floor, often enjoying substantial home field advantages. This crushing defeat happens when you start believing your own hype, and he got what he kind of deserved. Respect a little more your adversairies, Ricky. He cried all over the place for a PBF rematch, arguing " it was even stevens for 6 rds". ( ridiculous & delusional) Is he going to ask for a rematch with Pac now ?
Hatton is one of the most respectful guys in the sport, did all the pre-fight praise he heaped on Pacquaio pass you by or something? :huh And its not "delusional" at all, I believe the official judges had only a point or two seperating Hatton and Floyd after 6.
Show me the praise for PBF after he kod him ? His first words in the ring: " What a fluke that was !" . He said it with a chuckle, but it was actually what he was really believing. :nut There you go. I think i made my case.
yep, i felt bad for ricky..and for those sponsors of manny's fight in local Philippine television. they didn't get their moneys worth because the fight ended early.
i do. they went a long way for training to last in 2. anyway, he did land his body punches, he was able to clinch, he was able to go to war for sometime until he got caught. all respects to ricky
****!!! they aired the bout twice with a 10 minute break within national anthems, entourage and entrance of fighters, introduction, in between rounds. ****!!! they compensated for the short fightatsch
I do feel for Hatton. While he made a lot of money the manner of the loss will haunt him for years. It's one thing to be competitive and go out on your shield but to get completely out classed like that in front of your family, friends and millions of boxing fans is completely different. Hatton wasn't fighting for the money he was fighting to prove himself and he failed.
Pacman really made Hatton look like a damn amateur in there. I guess Hatton always was overrated though. Never really had much skill, just an aggressive, energetic style. Put him in there with a fighter with true A level skill like Pac or PBF, he ends up lookin' like a club fighter clown. Do I feel sorry for him? Yeah. Mostly because its tough to see a guy with so much enthusiastic fan support get oblierated so quickly like that, especially when your fans traveled over seas. Watching him lay flat on his back like that was a little scary too. I thought he could have been seriously injured. But he'll get over it. I dont really think there's any reason for him to continue fighting. He's proved that he'll never be able to improve his style and beat the very best. He has plenty of money, he should move on.
Of course I feel little bit bad for Ricky but, fighters like Ricky dont need pitty, I know he wants to be respected! And I respect him!
