I do, it's a shame because he threw himself into deep water instead of taking a tune-up before the rematch, he just couldn't beat his limitations, there's no shame in that
Price was not ready for Thompson. He needed more experience before fighting Thompson in the first place. They thought Thompson was no good because of all the prejudice against Vlad, who knocked him out two times. Wilder refused to fight Thompson, and for good reason.
I did feel alot sorry for him since I know what hard work he's done to get where he's at. Still **** happens and it's heavyweight boxing.
The truckloads of cash he must have put on himself to lose both those fights will probably have him set up for life, so I don't have a lot of sympathy.
I do. He seemed a humble straight up guy and I kind of rooted for him out of pity. Now if this was Tyson Fury I would have no sorrow whatsoever.
He's probably already made a fair amount of money off doing something he likes, so no I don't feel bad for him.
Well, I've won 2 times betting on Thompson, but now I feel actually bad for Price. He's got the ideal reach and power to be one of the best HW's at this moment, but his movement is absolutely terrible and he can't handle any pressure. I think he has to find a new trainer/manager who can prepare him to become a top-10 fighter in +- 2 years. He should now fight bums to gain confidence and learn to box with a new style.
I do feel bad for him because he's being treated like a garbage fighter, which he's not. Personally, I don't judge guys too harshly when they challenge themselves and lose. It's not like he got exposed against some bum- the dude fought Tony Thompson, who is a legit world-level competitor. So, Price isn't at that level, and he's got a ton of work to do if he's ever going to get there. It's a long shot that he ever lives up to the hype. That doesn't mean there's no place for him in boxing if he wants it. I don't understand- people get mad that prospects are matched far too easily, then when they do step up, they get written off as garbage if they lose. That attitude is a big reason we don't see good fights for most of these prospects and contenders more frequently. If you don't want to see a ton of protected 0's in the sport, quit burying a guy as soon as he loses.
