I remember leading up to the PBF fight Nazim saying on the press conf about how Shane talks about (and he put on that kid like wide eyed enthusiasm) "We're gonna beat this guy, then we're gonna beat this guy, then I wanna fight everyone who's ever beat me", and now in a recent Elie Seckbach video he talks about beating Manny "and than I'm gonna fight Cotto again, Mayweather again..." and says he's gonna be like BHop (the vid's below), and you can see that that enthusiasm is still there. I find myself feeling sooo bad for him, because he's such a nice genuine guy, and has that innocent little kid quality both generally as a person and in this huge enthusiasm and drive he still seems to have for boxing seems so little kid-like, he still wants to take on the world, and you just see this disaster coming, because he's not gonna beat Pac, and he's not gonna beat PBF and probably not even Cotto given how his chin looked against Mora. And it's just so goddamn sad. This happy enthusiastic innocent kid is gonna have his dreams shattered so cruelly. Anyone else feel this way? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1tVmLk3Bq0[/ame]
Shane seems like a really cool nice guy but he is also very delusional and a bit stupid. He will end up like Roy jones and holyfield, even if pac gives him a beating and he will seem really shot I dont think he will retire.
Nope. I just feel for him about the whole situation with his ex-wife other than that no. Hes getting paid real nice.
No. He's a grown man who has been VERY successful in his career. He's made millions of dollars, is about to make millions more, and will eventually end up in the Hall of Fame. There's a lot of boxers who deserve much more sympathy than Shane, who has made and done more than 99% of them.
Yeh, you have to like Shane, I don't know anyone who doesn't...and he took bad beatings from Cotto and Mayweather...I fear his story isnt going to end well
Yeah, poor guy even thought he was rubbing vitamin cream on his tummy. Unless he gets back on the BALCO gear, he can forget about a return to the glory days.
I love Shane hes a warrior, and he seriously belives what hes saying. The man will fight anyone. But the fact is, he is not what he once was. Even if he did pull off the unthinkable and beat Pac, hes going to get hurt in the long run and its a shame, Boxing needs more people like Shane hes been good to it, Boxing should now be good to him and hopefully he will leave gracefully and not a mess. One other think, i think Shane comes across as being quite slow, a genuine nice guy but not the smartest.
Innocent? The guy did EPO and gets paid to knock people out. I like Shane but he'll get his check and after the beating from Pacquiao he can live his life nicer and pretty nicer than most here so why would I feel sorry for him? He's a fighter at the end of the day and is only doing what he gets paid to do. The only way I'd feel sorry for him is if he got brain damage or any other physical disability. It's not cool that he was with a goldigger but no one forced him to be with her and let alone have kids with her. Dumb move on his part.
Wait what? That was a close fight. I understand if you mean that fight toke something from him but in no way was that a beating. The first Forrest fight and the Mayweather fights were beatings.
No he's making millions of dollars, no reason to feel sorry for him. He's probabyl just doing it for the money anyway.
To answer the TS Question... No I dont feel bad for him. He had his day, now hes older and he cant stay on top forever! I actually give him a shot at beating pacquiao, he would have to do it in rounds 1-3.. he might shock the world! Shane is a nice guy but why does he get a pass on his steroid abuse... Its comical! I still think he was Juiced up for the Margarito fight!
I can't imagine another boxer at that weight at that time taking the shots Margo did. Margarito has an ATG chin and is a tough fighter.
