IMO, Stylistics has hit the nail on the head. GBP (which = big $$$$) has interest in nothing being done about it, along with the fact Shane has always maintained a very good clean image.

“But from the beginning I had them contact the Nevada State Athletic Commission to make sure there were no problems. They got the banned substance list and I was told that nothing I was being given was on that list.”
“My record speaks for itself in this matter, I’ve always been a clean fighter, and I have nothing to hide. That one little hiccup should never have happened, and it won’t happen again.”
“Any of the media or the guys from Sports Illustrated can come up here anytime they want to and take any blood or urine tests and I’ll prove that I’m the cleanest fighter out there today,” Shane Mosley who was not given a respectable amount of time to contact the authors of the Sports Illustrated piece to respond before publication

As for Unbeatable Floyd who says Floyd is not a Coward, he likes one of the two greatest "scumbag" cheaters to beat Miguell Cotto. That is a bizarre behaviour from Unbeatable Floyd , at least compared with Illmatic who admittedly doesn't side with the ones who like Mosley and feels he should get flack now, one week away from his shot at Cotto's title.

For one thing, b/c boxing is a so called "dying sport", the main stream media probably doesn't know anything about it, or simply doesn't care enough to bring it up. Also, the media who does know a great deal about it are probably huge boxing fans. They know that boxing is "dying" in main stream America. Perhaps, they believe that boxing as a whole is bigger than this story. By bringing this to the attention of the mainstream media and public, it could further damage the sport of boxing.

Should Sugar Shane get away with it? I say hell no. But should the sport of boxing be further scrutinized by people who dont know anything about the sport? I believe that is what could possibly happen if this sort of story became widely spread.

    What do you guys think?

What I really think? Much more than those athletes you really think to take steroids and prohibited pharmaceutical products, do it to get prepared for a big sports event. It's not just to enhance power, they have contracts and have to show up in condition, and there may be a lot of major biological, disfunctional situations with athletes in training camps besides what is known as "morally acceptable" injuries... There are stress, psychiatric situations related with sleep and anxiety - fighters are under tremendous pressure cause they chose to, nonetheless the same human beings have to accomplish under the watchful eye of the whole world, mainstream or non mainstream, and I guess the insiders choose to make a Nelsonian blind eye most of the times so that they protect the sport as a show and a business for their promotional, broadcasting, media-related companies. I don't know why am I telling this when most should know about it, but in case you don't, then you have two options: do the same as the insiders do or simply get inside the boxing business and make some noise about it, defend your moral issues like you are fighting against unfair crimes and wars.

As others have said, Shane's a nice guy, when he tells you something you believe him as you should because he hasn't tried to cover anything up, he has good character, love for the sport, good sportsmanship and he'll fight anyone. Fact is he never tested positive for anything.

True, my friend. I like Shane and taking steroids is not acceptable for anyone cause they are damaging their health and are not playing fair with their competitors in a game where someone has to lose... But I feel that is almost as to say that Miguel should have not landed low blows on Zab and Zab should have not punched on the break and opened a gash on Cotto's eyes, both claim those were accidental and so does Shane say that he didn't know about the drug when he took it... We're all presumably innocent until proven otherwise. I personally like Shane and Miguel, have just a little trouble liking Ricky inside the ring and Floyd outside the ring, that's all.
