Anyone find it hard to watch and feel it should've been stopped earlier?

I agree. The referee should've stopped it at the end of round 8 at the latest. It reminded me of the end of Duran-deJesus III, where the ref decides to let a fight continue simply because the losing fighter can still stand vertical - but that should not be enough to justify allowing him to take more and more unnecessary punishment once the result of the fight is assured. By the end of round 8, it was no longer a question of "If", it was a question of "when", and in that situation the ref should call it off.

 

Well Margarito does has an iron chin. I felt that it was a good stoppage.

 

I would rather see 1000 early stoppages - or what people deem to be early, than see another Gerald McClellan incident.

Granted, boxing is the last gladiator sport, to some extent, but come on, we aren't in the Colluseum waiting for Julius Caesar to turn his thumb and say death or no death.

Agree 100% percent. I would rather a man seemingly humiliated by a ref stopping a fight than a man in a comma or worse. AM's corner really should have stopped him coming out for the 9th, no matter how much AM said he was OK.
