Anyone finding the Froch-Kessler II build up a little cringe-worthy?

I think your over rating Hatton pre Kos Tysuzu and under rating Froch. My opinion of course.

You can fight on BBC & ITV 100x over thats not what makes a fighter a star. Promoting a fighter is more than that.

I dunno Rob. Prior to Zoo Hatton was putting 15,000-20,000 bums on seats at the MEN fighting opponents most people there had never heard of.

Hatton was a big star by the time he fought Tyszu. He'd been a featured fighter on Sky for a long-time. PPV (and the Tyszu win) simply proved he was a crossover performer - it had been a long time coming.

Froch really isn't a PPV fighter.

Sorry... that makes no sense. Good promotion is getting guys in front of large audiences. The biggest UK audience Carl has ever fought in front of was when he beat Pascal on ITV1. It was a great fight with millions watching and...

No one even remembers it. He just doesn't engage people.

    Stars are born, not made.

I agree. I think the thing is whether Froch-Kessler is a PPV fight rather than whether Froch is a PPV fighter.

I think it was in the build-up to the Pascal fight. The voiceover made a comment that Carl was gunning for Joe, and they gave Carl his phone number.

Joe simply said it was about the money.

I agree, but that's pretty rare that it crosses over.

You just explained my point for me. Nobody remembered it because of bad promotion. The fight got average viewing figures and Froch did not recieve any national media coverage after the fight, he did for Bute. I would still say more people were aware of the Bute fight before and after the event, and they sold more tickets for it as well.

this is the last thing i would ever expect to come out of your mouth.

Frochs "performance" on Jonathan Ross tonight sort of drives the point home....he was ****ing awful
