Anyone finding the Froch-Kessler II build up a little cringe-worthy?

Who is Carl Froch?

His status might be growing slowly with the casual fans, and doing these things will help get in the mainstream? But who is he?

In the same way that lots of people in this ****ry know who a Eubank is, or Nigel Benn is, some of those same people don't even know who Carl Froch is. I can only talk to a few people about boxing, but when I talk to people who know a bit, some of them have never even heard of Carl Froch.

Carl Froch his whole career has been trying to prove a point, trying to be as popular as Joe, trying to get the exposure he believes he deserves. But the fact remains, a lot of people don't even know who he is. Still.

That must eat away at him.

Carl Froch is so desperate to get the exposure some of the greats in this country got, and as much as he tries in and outside the ring, it just aint happening. He will never ever be as big as some of the fighters in this country. He can talk about genetics, warriors and legacy all he wants.

1) He doesnt have the skills like some of them

Now thats nonsense, Hatton,Khan,Haye have had far more exposure then him in modern era.I`m taking about chat shows and the like,yes he had the Pascal fight on ITV but then his next fight was on an internet stream,okay they showed it the next day but the momentem had gone from then on his next fights were on primetieme ppv channel which was damaging for his career. Froch is the most exciting fighter in the ring we have had over the last 5 years,however he doesn`t have the charisma as someone like Haye.

That doesn`t mean he should get ignored by the press for an inferior boxer like Khan.He`s a normal bloke and the fact the press ignore boxing most of the time unless you go to try to shock like Haye has done at times.He should of been on these type of shows years ago after beating Taylor like he did.

 

Im not looking forward to alexander but im looking and excited at the prospect of brook finally livin up to expectations and show hes world class.

 

It's all about promotion. If Froch was 30, I think there'd be a genuine argument to say that Froch could become a mainstream name like Haye and Khan.

It's obvious that it eats Froch alive that he doesn't get the attention like Khan does, and probably even more so the attention Calzaghe does.

The fact is, each fight he's been promoted on Sky, his name has been noticeably getting bigger and bigger, hence why I think a few more heavily promoted fights on Sky (which would lead to more high profile TV appearances, chat shows etc..) could have made him mainstream.

 

Yep,I agree if he was on Sky throughout the super 6 he would be a mainstream star but thes things can happen rapidly I rember Calzaghe moaning that he was not as big as a name such as the likes of Eubank,then the Lacey fight happened and he got the mainstream attention he wanted.It took Calzagae a long time becuse he was fighting no hopers but when it did happen it happened quickly,for carl being tucked away on Primetime hurt him bad.The reason he was on Primetime and not Sky must of been fat Mick,Sky must of had a problem with him.

Theres no Warriors in any sport. Warriors had swords and spears and when they went into battle they used to be killed.
