Abner Mares is up there if you include his upcoming fight with Moreno:

    Moreno
    Morel
    Agbeko 2
    Agbeko 1
    Darchinyan
    Perez

Froch would be proud of that run.

The key term in the thread is "fought" not "beaten."

Mayweather has fought 4 hall of famers, possibly 5. Just when taking the circumstances into account, I don't believe he has consistently fought 6 consecutive opponents as tough as Donaire and Froch's.

We'll just agree to disagree on this one. I'm not saying your opinion is without merit, I just don't agree with it.

Moral of the story - you can dismiss anyone's resume for multiple reasons. What a miserable bunch some of you are.

If were going strictly off fought then what about Mosley?

    Canelo
    Pacquiao
    Mora
    Mayweather
    Margarito
    Mayorga

Okay a few dodgy names but Mayweather, Canelo, Margarito and Pacquiao is pretty strong!

    Carl Froch 29-2 (21 KO)

Nice 3 losses there, do they not teach the difference between 2 and 3 where you're from, the vital difference is SD12 Dirrell.

More people wanted to see the Hatton fight than, what, Margarito or Paul Williams and his huge fan base? Public demand = Hatton fight. And looking back, I'm glad he didn't fight Margarito. A win over him does very little, as his whole career is in question (plus, I just find him immensely overrated anyhow).

Mayweather did not bring up a 130 pound fighter.

JMM was the lineal 135 pound champion. So, he brought up a 135 pounder.

Unless you insist you are correct, in which case they are both 130 pounders coming up.

Try 4 or 5. Marquez, Oscar, Mosley, and Cotto get in for sure. I think Hatton does too.

Who cares what made financial sense in this very hypothetical situation? Everyone understands why FMjr took the Hatton fight, the question is, should've he when there were better options at WW?

And at the time, Margarito's name wasn't tarnished, and a win over him would have meant something (even if it would have been a damn shut out).
