What do you reckon the combined schlong length will be between these two? Just under a meter i'd say.
I think AJ will struggle with a big Southpaw who is heavy handed so a big upset might be on the cards. AJ should do the job though and to be honest even if there was no title up for grabs this is a great opponent for him at this stage so hats off to him and his team and Eddie.
Given that for years, the search was on for a decent american heavyweight, how is it that most people had never seen or heard of Charles Martin until he fought Tom Dallas? Now all of a sudden he has a phoney title from an injury win over someone who had been gifted 2-3 questionable decisions. World champion? Talk about the Emperor's new clothes!
True enough, but at the end of the day if someone wants the strap he's the guy they have to take it off. AJ is lucky enough to be first in line to try.
Martin hasn't fought anyone of note to say he's heavy handed. He is far from a light puncher but at world level I don't think hes a huge banger - to be respected sure but not feared. And while a leftie is usually troublesome - AJ did OK vs a few in the ams so. Martin has a chance. He thows combinations and his left has spite but he's also very open when he does throw and if Joshua lands its probably the biggest puncher hes been in with. We have seen AJ come through his first real test against Whyte took a huge shot and a couple of fallow ups and managed to recover fight back and then get the KO win. Lots of questions over two unproven fighters its an interesting fight but just while AJ has been blasting out B level fighters. Martin has at times struggled and that's what makes me think this is Joshuas fight to loose.
Yeah, he's no champion. He's probably a fair bit better than 14 of Joshua's 15 opponents though. He's very possibly as good or better than Whyte too.
Big, heavy handed southpaw who is the champion. Naturally he's a bogus champion but he has a chance for sure. People are picking Joshua on talent not on evidence. This isn't amateur boxing where talent and skill is the overriding factor in who wins. Joshua's reaction to being hurt vs Whyte was positive but we arent 100% on his stamina, durability, confidence, having plan B etc.
Bruno looked like he had power, but had no power. Joshua looks like he has power, but....we'll see. Not convinced yet.
Fury calls this a 50-50 fight and he's probably right. Martin is one of those fighters who doesn't look great but has pretty good all-round skills. He's a southpaw and he throws plenty of shots. He moves a bit, has got good reach. He has a decent trainer, well-schooled. It's difficult to tell if he's any good yet. Joshua looks more spectacular. Stronger, with good hand speed for a powerful muscular man, an athletic talent. But that's not real evidence. He's faced on decent opponent and it wasn't an easy night for him.
