Get ready to here the most delusional analysis ever. These older posters have this belief that no one can compete with the classic fighters, but in reality a lot of them would get bulldozed by modern fighters

No offense to you since I think your a good poster, but most of the time the older posters just pick at the flaws of the newer fighters and praise the strengths of the older ones

So because vitali doesn’t hit as hard as them he can’t take out Norton? Let’s just forget that Vitali is levels above them in skill and still has knock out power

The Ken Norton from the March 31 1973 fight against Muhammad Ali in San Diego, California would need a second dose of Hypnosis to beat a Vitali Klitchko. Norton claimed that before the first meeting against Muhammad Ali that he was given Hypnosis as a measure for self confidence. Vitali would be too big and strong for Ken, who about a year later was blasted out by champion George Foreman in two rounds on March 26 1974 in Caracas, Venezuela. Ken did beat a past his prime Muhammad Ali, that was 221 lbs and far from condition. But Ken lost a split 12 round decision to a 212 lb Ali in Los Angeles, California. on Sept 10 1973. Vitali would use his long left jab to keep Norton at bay, then would use a crisp right hand that would stop Ken in round 5. Norton does not have the footwork to beat Klitchko.

Yeah I agree. Even though I have all the respect in the world for Ken Norton I can’t see him winning this. Vitali Klitschko would force Norton to fight off the back foot and that’s not a good position for him to be in at all.

So true, he did beat Ali in that first fight, broke his jaw but he could not handle George Foreman in his prime. Norton was a good fighter but too many blown chances.

Sanders is possible with his crazy hand speed and awkward south paw stance, but a 1st round KO is unlikely. If Sanders were to go for a KO he'd better do it early tho because Norton has way better stamina and overall skill. Plus straight punches from long range aren't how you beat a crab defense. Vitali was way way busier than Sanders who was more of a Ingemar Johanson type of guy looking to land one big shot.

Herbie Hide stopping Norton in 1? That's going way too far. He Certainly could bang but wasn't remotely in the same tier as guys like Foreman and Shavers he'd need several rounds to stop Norton. Name 1 person Hide stopped in 1 round who was as good as Norton? Hide wasn't exactly a very durable guy and it's equally possible Norton stops him too. He's actually the larger man and had respectable power himself.

Lol @ Kirk Johnson. That's just plain hilarious.

Is that what I asserted? No.

Vitali didn't hit as hard as Shavers or Cooney - I'm assuming you agree with this?

Let's just completely miss the more pertinent point of my post, which was Norton was past it against Shavers and shot to **** against Cooney.

Levels above? Proven against no one of note!!

That body is a big target. Ken was a serious body puncher.Later I see him landing body head combinations. Norton has the better jab too. Vitali's power is overrated, he was mostly an arm puncher. Norton by points win.
