If there ever was a fighter that could exceed Frazier for being busy, it is Vitali Klitschko. You could make an argument that Frazier is P4P greater and that he puts comparitively more steam on his punches. But on the other hand Vitali has like 40 lbs on him and throws as many if not more punches than Frazier. He is also teak tough and doesn't tire. People talk about Vaughn Bean, but lest we forget Bean went the distance with Holyfield and in the view of some, beat Moorer. I could point to Frazier's scraped points win over Oscar Bonavena, who is nowhere near Vitali in ability, and similarly make remarks about Frazier's chances based on that. Just saying.
Every reply just goes on to prove your substandard boxing knowledge. Try reading some books, and not just watching fight highlights, and you might get there eventually.
Agreed,,,,,Your comment on range is spot on .The Klitschko's success was based on controlling distance from their opponents, No way he controls the distance with Smokin Joe Frazier, every time Vitali would breathe in this fight he'd be inhaling Joe Frazier. As others have said this certainly isn't an easy fight and Frazier would receive a lot of punishment. Frazier by UD but I could see Vitali wilting in the 14th after winning the majority of the rounds up until he loses the last 3or 4
Yes - Definitely a difficult prospect for Frazier, but Vitali rarely, if ever, faced the kind of assault that Frazier would put on him. VK would happily work his way through relatively static opposition, looking good as he did so, but I doubt he would look anywhere near as good against a guy whose middle name was 'Attrition'.
Oscar Bonavena boxed Frazier twice and took him the distance twice. Bonavena knocked Frazier down in the 2nd round of their first fight with a peach of a right hand and had him over again in the same round for another count. Joe won a split decision over 10 rounds. Joe won another later bout over 15 rounds, but had to go the distance again. Joe didn't knock out everyone. Frazier went 12 rounds with Joe Bugner and Bugner seemed to shake him at least once, maybe twice. Pretty sure Vitali with his size, jab, awkwardness, good workrate and decent right cross can give even Frazier a tough bout. Vitali is a tough fight h2h even for prime Joe, imo. Vitali lost to veteran Lewis on a cut, yeah. Pretty tough fight though, wasn't it, and Klitschko wasn't bounced the ring for 6 knockdowns like Joe against George Foreman. He retired against Byrd when injured again, in a puzzler. Klitschko was winning that. I'm sure Vitali regreted that in a way, but I think he made amends with his career later. Someone mentioned Vaughn Bean, LOL. He gave Moorer a pretty hard night for the title and lost a majority decision. He took Holyfield the distance as well. Only man to stop Vaughn Bean was Vitali Klitschko.
For those who think Bonavena fights were such big deals - did Vitali beat anyone as good as Bonavena? Maybe, but clearly better? I don't think so.
Joe may beat Vitali prime for prime (in a tough decision bout imo), or maybe not, (and I like them going 1-1 in two fights), the poll has Vitali ahead. Interesting.
Meanwhile the dregs that Vitali beat are still fighting for belts today or hold them, in the case of Charr. Imma going ahead and I'll say that Sanders was better than both Bonavena and Bugner.
Joe Bugner was pretty decent, durable with a good chin, but lacked power at top level. I watched Frazier-Bugner an hour ago. I don't think many of these people commenting have a clue! Just laugh at them, lol.
