Anyone give Whyte a chance next week?

Sugar Hill said on talksport tonight that the plan is to box on the front foot and push Whyte back aka Wilder 2. Might of been a bluff of course

 

I'll be honest I know what people are talking about by a nervous or gut feeling about Whyte but I had much more of that before Fury vs. Wilder 3.

 

Total polar opposite of what he said at the press conference! I guess we will only know the truth on Saturday night

I give him a decent chance for a few reasons.

I've seen fury dropped a few times vs wilder and not always with the best connection either. Wilder is a very poor boxer so if he can manage to land a few heavy shots guaranteed whyte can.

Fury hasn't really had a challenge since klitschko for my money, the only time we saw him I with decent all round guy was wallin which he didn't look great. I see whyte as a better version of wallin so...

Whyte has fought better guys overall, he just has you can't compare his last 6 to furys they are just more difficult fights. Odd as it sounds I think he's more proven in his current state. I mean you can't compare this fury to the one that fought klitschko 7 years ago, he's a different fighter now and he's still untested in his new style imo, the wilder fight is difficult to draw conclusions from because whyte is the opposite of how wilder fought, he comes forward not back and he like to mix it up close.

I hope whyte wins, not because I dislike fury because I'm bristish I like them both, they both come across as decent funny guys. But I think he deserves it, he's fought some tough fights and yet is still somewhat underrated and hated on I just would like to see him shut a few people up.

I was close to putting a bet on whyte when the odds were 6/1 I believe the fight will be much close than that, I'd have to favour fury slightly 60/40 but I've never gambled in my life so won't start now.

 

Of course he has a chance, this is HW boxing, just not a very good one.

 

A Whyte win will be nowhere near the shocking events that unfolded before our eyes when Tony Dosh PPV was pummelled by Rice Pudding Ruiz Jnr - could still not believe it when I woke up the next evening.

 

I think people forget how sloppy Whyte actually is, he's really not good at all.

If Whyte wins, and its a big IF, it will be more to do with Furys decline than Whytes ability.

 

I expect Fury to win but no excuses at all if Whyte wins - he deserves all the credit should he pull off the upset.

For someone who's not really good at all he's had a pretty decent run of things, wouldn't you say?

Yes, he's sloppy, but Fury isn't exactly a stranger to that either. How many times has he waded in, arms down, or squared himself up while throwing an impromptu combination, or winged in wild shots that left him massively exposed? There are a lot of holes Whyte can expose, and if he does so it will be because he capitalised on existing errors in Fury's game, not due to decline.

 

If Fury thinks he can just brawl and get the job done like he did against Wilder he could play into Whyte's hands. I think Whyte will fight dirty if he needs to, he's always a bit of an uncoordinated mess and that could prove to be a problem for Fury. I'd love a Whyte win tonight, it's what the division needs because if Whyte has that belt he'll be looking for the next big fight tomorrow, not boring the life out of us with retirement talk because he's scared of being beaten by Usyk.

 

In other words you are stating that you think if he gets beat that Tyson Fury has turned into Big Joan Fury after the Wilder Trilogy.

There will be some decline but your 2 examples made me laugh.
