I've been watching a lot of the old matchups and past great fights lately. Ali vs. Foreman, Frazier, Norton, SRL vs hearns, Hagler, Duran, a bunch of Mike Tyson fights, etc.. Without the Mayweather/Manny fight boxing there is no other matchup that excites me. Call me a casual fan or a bandwaoner but that's how I feel. Cotto vs Margarito 2 is cool and I would one day want to see an Ortiz vs. Rios and a Nonito vs. Gamboa but fighters like Khan, Canelo, Bradley, Berto, Kirkland, Martinez, JCC Jr., Ward, etc. don't excite me at the moment mainly none of them are fighting each other. And that's what you got with the old fights, matchups you wanted to see.
Exactly how i feel im getting bored the only fighters that i want to watch are the six i said at the start of the thread. I will watch Cotto vs Margarito 2,Murray vs Rios, and Wladimir Klitschko vs Jean Marc Mormeck tho.
Yes, there may be the case that there are too many divisions, too many titles, too many mega match ups not living up to the hype, too many politics, etc. However, boxing is boxing. A great fight can occur at any time. In December, Giovani Segura is fighting Brian Villoria. Miguel Cotto is fighting Antonio Margarito. Abner Mares will fight Joseph Agbeko. Carl Froch is fight Andre Ward. And now, this is all happening next month. If this doesn't get you excited then I'm not sure what wil... The more fighters you know, the more you will appreciate and follow boxing...
