Thinking about going to the fight in February, just wondering how many people Wlad draws when he fights at the garden? The only problem is the cheapest ticket is $100. Will they opemn cheaper seats closer to the fight date? Is $100 expensive for the cheapest seats in comparison to other fights?
im not sure. i think the cheapest seats to the average big fight is 50 bucks. being a special fight - heavyweight unification - they probably expect a full house. and when you expect a full house you tend not to go cheap. but yeah, closer to the fight if they are not selling as expected they'll either drop prices or even give away some tickets just before fight night. happens a few times at least that i've noticed edit: oh, and another indication of the chances of it being a full house is that wladimir/brock sold out i think, and that wasn't as big as this fight. brock was an american contender and hopeful, so that could explain the full house, but then again, ibragimov surely would have garnered some exposure in beating a few well known american fighters in briggs and holyfield. i think it will be pretty packed in feb
Thanks. I just read that the Brock vs Wlad fight drew over 14,000 fans, and this undercard includes Duddy so it will probably draw a big crowd. Have you been to a Wlad fight and are they a good time?
Thanks for the input interim. I was their for the malignaggi cotto fight and I agree that was one of the best if not the best sporting event i ever saw live. The atmosphere was electric the entire night. I bought the $50 seats for that fight and I thought the view was surprisingly good. I was hoping to get another night like that but beside the unpredictability of heavyweight fights combined with the ticket prices I am now on the fence. Seriously, how can the average fan or father for that matter take their son to a title fiigt nowadays. You have to shell out over $200 for nose beed seats. Its ridiculous!! You think they will lower the prices or will this fight actually produce a big gate?
Prices won't be lowered. Wlad has a very underrated US fanbase and any potential for a few open seats (which won't happen anyway) is gone with the addition of Duddy to the undercard.
Never saw WLad at MSG, only at Boardwalk Hall. I love MSG but I wouldn't shell out the big bucks for this one.
There's no way this won't sell out. It'll be somewhat of a historic night, considering how long its been since we've had two heavyweight titleholders face off. I'd certianly go, if I could.
