Darren Barker v Ben Crampton, Nigel Wright v Lenny Daws etc. I will be there if anybody feels like buying me a beer....
Compared to Pascal, who is actually a couple of months younger...he isn't doing so well...do you think he will ever be better than Euro-Class? Will he ever make Top 10-15?
Yes, I think so. Top 10 imo, so hard to tell though isnt it. Somoene (TSO maybe) was on here saying Crampton would win this, will have to dig that thread up when barker gives him a sound thrashing.
I think so he has good hand speed and excellent poise.... kind of like a third world De La Hoya. He impresses me every time I see him fight.
So...he's good but not very bright, right? “I’ve sparred with them both and they are both very good,” said Darren. “Carl will definitely go all the way, judging on what Kessler is like. “Carl hits harder than him and is a very smart boxer. He is good enough to become undisputed champion in a very hot division. “At the top level there is a very fine level between winning and losing - and Carl has definitely got what it takes. He has got what it takes to beat Kessler - and anyone else in the division. "It was great sparring with Kessler, who is a nice guy. It gave me confidence ahead of my Commonwealth Title fight and I'm optimistic for the future http://www.hennessysports.com/Article.asp?art=463
No - are you offering tickets? I am apparently going to Tooting Leisure centre on Sunday for someone's first pro fight...Gonna be boozy me thinksatsch
Barker is a real talent. Hope he can clinch the Commonwealth Title at York Hall to add to his Commonwealth Games Gold Medal. Sky Sports are televising the show. Not surprised Barker has been talking up Froch - they are both Hennessy fighters. Barker took some time out from boxing when he lost his brother (also a boxer) in a car accident last year but the break doesn't seem to have done him any harm judging by his last fight.
Fraid not. It's a Hennessy show but I'm covering it for Doghouse. Given that there is more than one post per month in the british section at ESB, I thought I'd ask if anybody else was going.
I do believe Barker tried to have a bit of a tear up with Kessler when they sparred, and Kessler beat him up and gave him his fare home.
