Nacho Beristain said on golpe a golpe he didnt think the fight was gonna happen, the job of the managers is to protect their fighters and make sure they had good chances of winning fights, and that he (jr) is a huge business meaning he sells his fights.... or his name for that matter....
He also mention that JR doesnt have much of a chance with Martinez....

So why TP will let him get destroyed and humiliated by fighting Martinez, over hyped or not the kid is already a star..... I think he will beat Lee with pressure, but Martinez no way....

Heres what i think, i think JR losses to Lee in a BS manner, a faked injury or something like that, forcing Martinez to fight Lee and he stays out of trouble since Martinez signed to fight the winner. All his fans protect him by saying he got injured

    thoughts?

Nonsense... IMO, Jr. really wants to fight Martinez and he's not ***** enough to be led around by Arum's coat tails. Simple.

They asked Arum about it, and he said he wasn't signing anything because it was a Holy Week. Todd DeBouf sounded very non committal in regards to Jr. fighting Martinez. I think they want to see how Jr. does against Lee until comitting to a fight against Martinez.

I have a funny feeling about Chavez vs Martinez also. It just seems weird for Top Rank to give Martinez career momentum. Why don't Top Rank give a Top Rank fighter momentum for beating Chavez?

That doesn't make any sense. Like the other Jr, Chavez is squeezing some juice out of that ZERO. Once that's gone, regardless of how it happens, his
"status" will suffer and the Chavez Jr business will take a huge set-back.

So much better for all involved to have him beat Lee then face Martinez win/lose/draw.

Losing to martinez won't harm Chavez JR, his 0 isn't actually valueable.

    Possible scenario

He loses to martinez, Blames it on weight, goes up to 168, because Ward will continue to avoid fighting Bute for some reason if he beats Froch, if Froch wins he won't get a rematch with ward and go up in weight (whole different matter), this leaves Ward, the over rated Dirrell brothers, Bute/Froch and Chavez JR, Chavez JR is the cash cow, Ward signs for top rank to get the Chavez fight.

Chavez makes a load of money, apprantly only loses against two amazing fighters in Martinez and Ward, Ward becomes a top rank fighter. Bob Arum makes more money.

maybe he just thinks he can win against a fighter who will be 38 soon and is not even a true solid middleweight by size..... it was a mismatch a few years ago, not so much anymore

This is just like the paquiao bs, the promoter is the one holding the fight, yesterday Jr was interviewed after the Sosa's fight and he said several times that he needs to fight Martinez to proof himself. He also said that nobody took Sergio's belt, instead Sergio decided to surrender his belt but under the condition that he would fight Jr, Chavez said Martinez is all about money, if Sergio really want to beat the best an get his champion belt then he shouldn't have refused to fight Pirog.

That's why his team don't let him talk on camera without his promoter because Jr doesn't care about all the "baking" process.

Lee will knock that mother****er out before he has a chance to fake an injury. Justice will be served on June 16th. Lee-Martinez will be one hell of a fight.
