I didn't score the fight, but I thought most of the rounds were very close and I probably would have given a lot of them to Jennings. I think maybe this is a case, as it was with people saying Crawford looked anything other than awful last week, of people giving it to the favorite just because they expect him to win. I'm not sure, tho, I didn't really score the rounds, maybe I would have had it like the judges and Harold, but just watching the fight it seemed to me like most of the rounds were very close.
The rounds were razor close. I had Wlad winning but there was only 1 or 2 right hands that made the difference. The majority of Wlads shots were jabs hitting Jennings gloves. Jennings body shots were the better scoring punches.
How so, when most of Jennings body shot was from the clinch and most of them was block by Wlads hands. Correct me if im wrong but some of Jennings body shots was in the kidney area i dont see a single warn for it.
I didn't score it formally but I probably would have had Wlad winning a 7-3 type decision with two even 10-10 rounds (first and seventh iirc). But I wasn't paying close attention and that was more a general inclination as opposed to a proper score.
Very, very close fight. I had it 114-113 Jennings, and I was not the only one. Most people seem to not count powerful body shots. Jennings did more damage in the most rounds and was never in trouble. Hope Wlad had just an off day, but if it was up to me he lost his belts yesterday.
Some of the old folks homes had a scoring that had the fight very close. then again, they thought it was bowling, not boxing, so I'll give them a break. that and the fact they are in an "old folks home."
It wasn't that close. Wlad cheated with his clinching 100 times per round. Wlad won with a borefest and clinches.
Not really a close fight, all things considered. You had a young ranked contender, fighting at home against an almost 40 yr old and I scored it 8-4, which, with a point deducted from Wlad, left it 115 - 112. IB had it closer (7-5) as he gave the challenger the 8th round (a bit of a stretch IMO). We both gave Jennings the first, and it could have gone either way. So, IMO, If we give the first to Wlad, 116-111 is within reason. And if we give the first to Bryant and the 8th then, with the point deduction, we get 7-5 (114-113). Moreover, Wlad's rounds were, on the whole, more decisive. The 12th round was the most decisive and partway through, Jennings changed his game plan from trying to KO the champ to making it to the final bell. So, more of a challenge than Wlad is accustomed to, but not really that close. 8-4 115 -112
Yes, that's why I gave Wlad round 12... Jennings body shots did far more damage than Klitschko's jab, only a few jabs of him actually landed.
Im a wlad fan and i definitely thought it was close. He put his stamp on it in the 12th though. Closed it like a champ.
