It's not just about skill. Lemieux is a beast. He is physically too big and too strong and hits way too hard for Cotto or Canelo. And his skill level is rapidly improving. There are so many variables. Anything can happen in boxing. Can't wait to see what happens with GGG.

It's all opinion really until proven otherwise, me personally from watching both relative to their comp I rate Canelo higher.

Stylewise I think GGG plays into Canelo's hands, as far as opponents the argument would be better if GGG had at least 1 notable name to back it up Geale is decent, Murray-Martinez was a close fight so depending on how you scored if will shape your perception. I thought Martinez edged it on one leg only to turn around and get demolished by Cotto which takes a lot of shine off Murray's performance.

Lemieux isn't really a quality fighter but, I'll give credit for unifying the WBA & IBF Titles.
Speaking strictly on how I see a Canelo-GGG matchup,
I feel GGG has the edge in power & footwork, I think Alvarez is better all-around offensively, faster and better defensively.

Personally I didn't think the Mattysse-Provodnilov fight was close but with three judges one had it a draw...sh!t happens
I think Alvarez win's 8-4 in a tough competitive matchup, GGGs power keeps him in it but Alvarez counter punching and defense wins it.

Cotto and Canelo would beat Lemiuex. Lemiuex has the equaliser though.

I think GGG is much more mature and refined in his skills.

Considering Lemiuex is an actual middle weight, don't know how we can compare Cotto/Canelo since...yea...

Canelo knocks him out. Don't know about Cotto.

I would favor Canelo over Lemiuex- not much question in my mind about it.

I would favor both of these over Cotto.

In fairness, I don't think Cotto would just roll over for either. Both of these will need to work to beat him.

IMO Canelo does better with the guys that will engage. I think he would relish a fight with Lemieux or GGG almost regardless of the outcome.
