I have time for them. I'm a fan of Jack Johnson.

    And of course, John L.

I just don't compare them to more recent pugilists.

Three quarters of a century is a long way back.

Well why does he have to prove he didn't take them to be ranked higher? :huh

There's more eveidence (however flimsy) of Ali taking roids than Lewis. Does Ali lose ATG points for steroid rumour and gossip?

Well lets just say that's a lot more black and white than Lewis and roids, shall we.

But we can't assume this one and that one did them anyways.

Well Joe Bloggs is mean looking, has tatoo's and once assaulted someone, so lets assume he killed those two in the alley. He looks the type

and that other big mean tatoo'ed fukker killed that guy just last month, looked exactly like him. Yep, he did it!

The leap of faith is you guessing this one and that one. Thoughts of steriods do nothing to my Lewis ranking because he was never tested to be positive nor proven of anything. He also doesn't exactly stand out like a Flo Joe. Build a case on a boxer like the one on her and i'll start to nod.

Evidence was a bad word, but Mendoza was tearing around with accusations a bit back. You would have seen them.

Even this in itself was more than i've ever heard on Lewis.

Certainly a lot more than he's big and i think his opponents used em and and and.....

I feel you got this wrong, My ranking of Lewis isn't based on steroids in the equation at all.

But - hypothetically, it would benefit his ranking even more if we could say for sure that he didn't take steroids in an era where many defintely did

    See above. Ain't accusing Lewis.

    Again. See above.

We can assume that some did. And Morrison and one of the Klits have been caught using them haven't they?

Come on, you're better than that! This is much more straight forward. We know that steroids were rife in sports in the 90's and we know they were used in boxing (Toney, Vargas etc).

From there it's plausible to think 1. There were those who used steroids who didn't get caught 2. The ones with huge, ripped bodies (who started to appear in masse in the 90's) are the ones that are most likely to be among these.

For the record, I don't have Lewis as one of them. I wouldn't be chocked to hear that he was taking steroids at some point, but there are others who definitely look like more likely canditates.

And for one last time, nothing of this affects my ranking of Lewis, since it is conjecture after all.

    Sure, I can see that.

I just thought it funny that you yourself are sporting a badass that was active around 300 AD for avatar. Now that's an oldtimer.

Dont even bother with the nut.

Anyone that even jokes about putting Lewis over Ali needs more than a slap, they need stoned to death like in the old days.

That's like saying "if it could be proven there is no God it would help your case even more". Or "If it could be proven there is no Santa Claus, it would be help your case".

Of something that doesn't exist, how the hell can you prove it's absence?

The best you can do is say that there is no evidence for its existence, point in case, Lewis was never caught using steroids, so he's innocent until proven guilty. Case closed.

I could explain my point, but that requires a lot of look-up and quotes, and that can only work if both sides are providing arguments of this kind. So far, all I've seen is bare-worded denials. Or these accusations of Lewis, of fighters of the 90's, etc. When did sporstmen first start using steroids, remind me? But no, those old-timers were too honest to use them, it's only the 90s and later that were doing this. There is some evidence only you know that proves that I suppose, despite no commission, or independent research making such claims. You know better than them. Sorry, I see no point argueing with a person who doesn't understand that you gotta have some resposibility for what you are saying, in case somebody asks you prove it.

The greatest heavyweight head to head without doubt is Lennox Lewis
