Agreed, that statement didn't make much sense. In 2003, Lewis was the concencus best in the world and defeated pretty much everyone who was decent, except for Wladimir Klitschko who had just been sparked in two rounds by Corrie Sanders. Additionally, he was 37 or 38 years old. Retirement made perfect sense at that point.
