I guess I'm in the minority in predicting a Cotto decision win... Good. I love when ESB agendas are so thick you can cut them with a knife. Make sure to bump this, fellas.

I'll be cheering for Geale (yes, I've been a fan for a long time and like him more than you do) to win but when factoring in everything in the ring and out while envisioning their style mesh I just do not see it. Hope I'm dead wrong.

And that's exactly what I'll be doing when all the Cotto fans are like:yikes when he's getting beaten down by Geale. Weight Divisions exist for a reason, and you'll all see that come Saturday.

Wasn't that a fight that had open scoring and we knew Canelo was way, way up? The whole fight was tainted by that, unless I'm confusing it with another fight.

:nod I hate open scoring, takes all the fun out of a decision, even if it's a robbery.

Remember in Garcia/Herrera where we knew Herrera was down 5 points on 2 of the judges cards going into the 12th and then when it goes to decision Mauro says "MAURICIO HERRERA PUT UP A GREAT FIGHT TONIGHT. BUT WILL IT BE ENOUGH TO GET HIM THE DECISION, PAULIE!??!?"

No it won't be enough, Mauro. Not unless you think those 2 judges gave him a 10-4 round in the 12th.

Now that I think about it...not entirely impossible considering how they scored the first 11 rounds.:deal

    I concur.

    6 rds a peice.

And as for Cotto vs Geale.

We'll see if Geale fights smartly behind the jab and goes downstaris with it early and often.

Cotto's gonna have a speed advantage, but at MW, I'd say their power is about equal.

Geale should really look to make Cotto come forward and potshot him downstairs with jabs and up with counter R hands.

If he can do that for 4-5 rds, Cotto will start to swell, and then Geale can start using his size and maybe begin breaking Miquel down.

Don't know how the weight will affect him either.

So, it's really up in the air IMO.

But at least Cottos fighting a solid champion material fighter. Unlike that stiff Heiland. :thumbsup

It sucked because Canelo knew he had the fight in the bag, and he didn't engage the way I believed he would have had the outcome been in doubt, as is the norm. Canelo, I honestly believe, was cheated out of what could have been a better winning effort that received higher accolades were it not for the open scoring experiment.

I can't remember just now, but there was another example of this where the open scoring was bad.

I think it was Garcia-Herrera, it annoys me as well, it takes impetus out of the guy winning , and why should they risk anything since they know there going to most likely win anyway. I was enraged by the open scoring during the Canelo-Trout match, I thought It was the close match that it really was, but didn't have to wait until the end to be p***ed at the scorecards.

Geale may have to stop Cotto to get the win. He will likely have to dominate Cotto to expect two of the judges to go with him.
