    Simple as the title. Who knows something about Ismael Laguna's personality, or have any stories about him? I'd love to know more about him as a person.

    Loved by Panamanians and a hero to a generation including a young Duran. He’s humble and understated. Quiet and didn’t seek the limelight. I remember reading he just wanted to retire young, buy a yacht and live peacefully. I understand he’s been sick for years now. Sickle cell I believe.

    I know Duran thought very highly of him.

    Very odd but whenever I think of Laguna the first thing that comes to mind is a photo taken of him and Buchanan before one of their matches, a publicity pic of the two of them sitting side by side holding a giant sub sandwich, grinning broadly.

    No idea of the context or why a three-foot sub sandwich would be part of a publicity photo for a lightweight title fight but I'm now suddenly a bit hungry.
