Hi, I've been following this forum for a long time but never posted anything, kind of just ghosting. I was curious the other day after watching Duran vs Jesus II what kind of training Duran did in preparation for fights, and thought it'd be interesting to see how he did his work. Simply put, can't find anything on his training routine. Has anyone seen anything or read anything?
You can choose not to believe this if you like. But I read Duran practiced the use of his head in his training sessions. That is on the heavy bag for instance he'd be including butts in his combos.
The Spider, your talking about him using the speedball with his head, and it was more of a party piece than serious training.
hmmmm so no one has any footage of him training? Scrap, youre telling me Duran fought and WON his fights with minimal sparring?
i just got done reading durans biography. he didnt train much for alot of his fights but the ones he did train hard for he was ferocious. he used to destroy sparring partners

6.00am got up for a run (great for those huge legs of his) Used to run with 50lb plate to keep his height right !!!! for breakfast he had fruit juice (orange I think it was ) 20 rounds in the gym 25000 sit ups dinner sleep !!!
wow thanks for the scan. Duran really liked his coca cola LOL. I wonder for the sparring if he also did 5 minute rounds? His dieting and training seems relatively unorthodox, at least in comparison to what I've seen of other boxers.
