135-160 lb champ that's the only important face. Whatever he did outside the ring had no bearing on what he did inside the ring
Quite a feat to be a champ from lightweight to middleweight who gives a **** what he did in his personal life
Why the coke? It's like Floyd drinking his Mountain Dew during his workout (which could have well been a clever marketing scheme.)
Duran wasn't exactly known for taking care of himself like Floyd is. He's legendary because he could do whatever he wanted and still kick ass bigtime. And what he did outside the ring has every single bearing on what he did inside it, you dumbass. Also, his jumproping routine was legit and they used to charge for people to view it.
Ok, once again he is a legend and was a champion from 135-160. That is why is he is legendary. He is legendary for his big win against Sugar Ray Leonard, Ernesto Marcel, Pipino Cuevas, Davey Moore, and Iran Barkley. Some consider him to be the best lightweight ever. Who gives a flying **** about his actions outside the ring, because it appears obvious that it didnt deter him. So who is the dumbass now you ****ing know nothing.
Duran himself has been known to say he thinks he could have gone further if he dedicated himself to training. But then he wouldn't be Duran. What he did outside the ring (training AND partying) absolutely effected him. obviously it doesn't matter, but to say it had no effect is crazytalk.
I understand that he was quite the partier, and understand that he blew up between his fights with Leonard, all I am saying is that lets praise this guy for his accomplishments, such as being champion from 135-160, his big wins, his big losses, and his career that lasted in parts of 4 decades over 33 years.
Sure. It just makes it more impressive when you think about what he was doing to himself in between fights. And how hard he had to work to stay/get in shape after all that.
