Judging by Zab Judah's face by the time of the riot, those sock'em boppers do some damage.

Possible but considering that welterweight is by norm a 10 oz gloves fight unless both parties request to use 8 oz, like in the Cotto-Pac fight, it would be 10 oz.

I don't what you guys want. Nobody wants to use 10 oz. gloves at WW if they don't have to. Mayweather has only used 10 oz. gloves twice and that's because he was forced to. He wore 8 oz. gloves against Marquez, and he was going to wear 8 oz. gloves against Pac. This fight will take place with 8 oz. gloves. Common sense, logic, and eye witness testimony all dictate the fight will take place with 8 oz. gloves.

I could be wrong on this but didn't Floyd ask for pillows in the Pacquiao negotiations?

That depends on who you believe. According to Roach, Floyd asked for 10 oz. gloves, for the fight to be at 154, and for a 25 foot ring. Everyone else says that's nonsense and none of those demands were ever requested.

Can someone tell me why the NSAC Rule Change regarding glove sizes for weight classes above 135 came about?

They said it was to protect fighters from injuries, though there is no evidence to support their logic.

This is one time where PBF might outsmart himself. Everyone's logic is that Shane really needs the 8oz gloves. And I understand their logic, but I would argue that Floyd would be making a mistake wearing 10oz gloves because he needs to be able to get Shane's attention. And he will have a hard enough time with 8oz gloves.

Floyd likes the 10oz not so much for protection of hands anymore but because they give him more glove surface to block punches. But I believe that in order for Floyd to win the fight he has to be able to slow down Shane's advance. And I don't think he can come close doing it with 10oz gloves.

It will be difficult for him period, partly because he is nothing more than a sharp puncher, but a sharp puncher that doesn't punch much, and 10oz gloves will only highlight this even more.

Logic will dictate that it is a 10 oz gloves because welterweight fights are normally with 10 oz gloves.

Now, if both parties request and agreed to 8 oz gloves then it is 8 oz gloves, but by default, it is 10 oz. gloves.

That is why it is called logic because it has to have valid premise then a valid conclusion.

At 154, it is always 10 0z., above 135, it is 10 oz by default but fighters can agree to fight using 8 oz. gloves.

Again logic would dictate that Mayweather would like to use 10 oz simply because he has brittle hand. The brand as well as weight of the gloves determine how it protects the hand.

You are wrong again. WWs normally fight with 8 oz. gloves. Nevada is the only comission that allows for Welters to wear 10 oz. gloves. Since they ammended the rules, no one has voluntarilly chose to wear 10 oz. gloves. And although 10 oz. gloves can protect his hands, so can the brand of gloves. Floyd has been wearing 8 oz. gloves his entrie career. I'll tell you what though, let's bet on it. I'm 99.9% confident that 8 oz. gloves will be used. If you think logic dictates that they'll wear 10 oz. gloves, let's bet on it.
