Gall, you need to allow for the site fee to host the fight that the Mandalay would (usually!!!) have paid GBP.

I've no idea how much that would be or even if it was paid for the Khan fight though....

the numbers stated by Kos do a seem a little crazy IMHO.

For example, Darchinyan vs Agbeko: 6% in the venue paid for a ticket. Or put another, according to Kos' numbers 94% of those who were at the venue got in with a free ticket :scaredas:

What a pointless comment, adds nothing to the thread

    why even acknowledge it then???
I dont see how the figures are reasonable but i understand that casinos offer alot of freebies knowing they make the money back in a big way. just a shame that top of their weights fighters are making less money than they probably deserve cos they aint got the big enough well paid fan base/name in america to make decent money

On the contray, given how HBO splashes the cash they're probably earning WAAAAY too much. I mean look at how much somebody like Berto is being paid per fight.

The figures came from an article on the Scene. I knew about the Berto figures (I remember reading it in Boxing News), but I discovered those other figures when searching about Berto's.

Considering they were two non-American fighters with a very small fanbase in the country, 5,000 isn't a bad number.

I agree, I'm sure they'll put his next fight on in the UK with him entering the ring at about 1:30 or 2am to please the American fans. It just makes sense.

I meant in the past couple of years.

Mosley-Margarito was WCB. Margarito/Cotto was about 2 and a half years a go. After that they changed their PPV policy.

Mosley/Mora and JMM/Diaz were essentially GBP PPVs like the ones Top Rank put out on their own but cos HBO love Oscar they agreed to produce the shows. They weren't hyped up by HBO with Countdown shows or 24/7.
