Anyone know who Parker’s stand-by replacement is for the Joshua fight

As we saw with Pulev, the shrewdest, slickest promoter in the game had a back-up plan and paid Takam behind the scenes to step in for Pulev or instead fight on the Monte Carlo card. So he was trained, in shape and ready to save the show.

I’m sure Edward has done the same here. Would Povetkin or Pricey step in?

Most likely would be Povetkin or Price as they are on the undercard. With Povetkin it would come down to how much money is offered, Price would likely jump at any chance to fight AJ.

Miller has been talked about as a future opponent and he's fighting next month vs Duhaupas so he could be an option as he's likely already training for that fight.

I dare say it is Povetkin and that would have been apart of his deal, as Price's deal would have been another local fighter if they needed Povetkin.

Would be absolutely mental if Parker suffered an injury and Povetkin knocked out an unprepared Joshua in one round. Imagine the scenes.

Lol just imagine if the bodybuilder had to fight his sparring nemesis David Price. Just imagine the scenes when people find out the plumber is really Joshua's main cryponite, left a crumpled heap face first down on the matt, with a Rahman styled phantom punch.

Be Povetkin as he is MANDO anyway for the WBA belt I believe.

I'm still holding a small glimmer of hope that Pricey ices Povetkin in rd1. Cant help but like Price, don't care if loses, David Price and Lucas Browne could star in their own soap opera the amount of drama they bring into fights.

Povetkin I think. That's probably why they chose such a weird opponent as Price for him. Edwardo clearly didn't want that Povetkin trains too seriously.

I like Price, but unfortunately he doesn't really have a chance. Betting on Povetkin is basically free money.

The problem is that Price's stamina is such that he's got about three rounds to knock his man out, then he's done.

Unfortunately, these days he's very tentative in those three rounds. He also jumps around nervously, further wasting energy.

If he realized that he only has two choices of strategy which could work, I might give him a chance. They are:

    1. Go for broke in the first two/three rounds before he gases out.

    2. Fight the whole fight conserving energy, i.e. no jumping around on tiptoes. Just take normal steps rather than bobbing up and down nervously all the time, plant the feet, hit hard, cover up and tuck the chin in when needed, let the other guy come on, tie the guy up and lean on him at every opportunity, even in the first 10 seconds, etc.

The fight vs Hammer showed that if he fixes the flaws above he can still be a force, his chin isn't all that bad, it's 90% his stamina.

Imagine if Joshua got injured instead. Do we get Parker vs Povetkin then?

Yeah... I know, but still, its impossible not to like him and wish the best for him. Who doesn't like David Price? He's like a real-life version of Fireman Sam. He's the epitome of the ye old English stereotype.
