IMO this would have looked like Morales Barrera, the result would be debated endlessly.

Negative. Rejected a 6 figure payday against Hamed and then fought Norwood. I dont get why people claim that Hamed was somehow scared of JMM. JMM was no big name at that point to even be afraid of, he was a nobody.

Shane's losses. Apparently Tito was in the crowd for Wright v. Shane I and Mosley was rumoured to be the frontrunner for Titos comeback.

Negative, Hamed offered JMM a fight with a 2 week's notice. Hamed had also spent a great part of his career avoiding his mandatory JMM and asking his belt's org to bypass his mandatory.

Bob Arum fabricated a lot of bs to push Marquez aside from his money making fighters.

There was a fabricated report for example where Top Rank claimed they had offered JMM a Morales fight for November 2006. The same year Morales had taken half of it off to recover from his previous loses and loose the large weight he accumulated to prepare for the Pacquiao rubbermatch in November that year. The Marquez team denied being offered the fight. It was a fabrication to downplay the existence of JMM.

There was another report that said that JMM was offered the Morales fight after the first Pacquiao fight. It is my understanding that JMM tried to negotiate the deal and was brushed off. Same thing happened when he asked for negotiations for the immediate Pacquiao rematch.

Top Rank wanted this guy off the map.

There is an article over at Btalk that quotes Nacho as stating that Top Rank tried to ruin Marquez and had they had the recources (money) to compete with Arum in court, they would have easily beat Arum in court.

Love how Nacho puts it in that Btalk article when referring to Arum and Pac offering Marquez a joke of a purse for a third matchup........" We haven’t mentioned anything. It’s Pacquiao that has the thorn in his side and the rock in his shoe. He will leave boxing knowing that the people who follow boxing, who are experts in boxing, know he was never able to defeat Juan Manuel Marquez."

Nacho goes on to state that Arum has made Marquez a miserable offer to take the third fight with Pac..........and seeing that Arum has'nt started spewing that the offer has been turned down by Marquez, it must truly be worst than a miserable offer.

I am a fan of Marquez and have high respect for Hamed, Barrera, Morales. A fight between Morales & Marquez would've been great and it's unfortunate it didn't happen earlier but I see Morales pulling off the W had they fought earlier.

close boxing match but marquez gets dropped, morales doesnt. morales gets a 10-8 round or two in there somewhere.

    Morales UD.

And i dont blame JMM for the fight not happening, it was offered to him and his ****ing managers made really stupid decisions. Wasnt that right before they flew him to asia to fight chris john for 35k and declined a morales fight for 750k-1.5m?

As long as Marquez looks like a legitimate threat Top Rank will cheat and lie to get him off their backs. To think that some people here praise that leeching snake Bob Arum just because he promotes their favorite fighter.

How many fighter's careers has Bob Arum ruined due to convenience I wonder? JMM was fortunate to make it out on his own due to his exceptional boxing skills.

Bob Arum made sure of it........but what Arum does when questioned why the fight did'nt happen, he spews that the Morales fight was offered to Marquez, when in fact, a legit offer was never made to Marquez.

.....the same tune is sung by the Hamed people, they spent two years petitioning sanctioning bodies to have the mandatory which was JMM at the time bypassed.
......Hamed was criticized heavily by the real boxing journalist at the time, so what does Hamed who was an HBO fighter at the time do???????.....in cahoots with HBO after the criticism from educated boxing writers, they then make an offer to Marquez which was basically a take it or leave it offer which was going to give JMM 3 weeks to prepare.

Of course Nacho was going to turn that down. They were giving JMM only 3 week to prepare and obviously it was an offer meant to be turned down......an offer just for show so that they could say JMM did'[nt want the fight.:patsch

Alot of you guys dont even bother to try and educate yourselves........just go over to boxrec.....there is over a 2 year lapse from the first JMM-Pac fight to the JMM-John fight.....
.....the supposed JMM/Pac/Morales negotiation (really a one man negatiation, because Arum never bothered to legitly have a sitdown and negotiate with team JMM) those supposed negotiations were 2 years removed from the Chris John fight

This idea that JMM turned down a Pac rematch to fight John for 30k in Indonesia is something that was made up by the *******s, the the uninformed who never bother to check the dates just buy this crap.

Some of you bafoons need to check out the dates at boxrec........the word of a ******* is something that should'nt be taken at face value.:deal
